  • I appreciate the time and effort you took to make the video. It was helpful. Just a slight bit of constructive criticism, it would have been nice to see more of the top end since I had no idea what you were talking about with the top 25% of the kit cutoff.

  • what do you think about the lee safety powder scale? is it accurate?

  • @riselikealion I personally don't like it.

  • first of all, THANKS 4 your vids, have learnt a shit load from em. 2 questions 4 ya, can ya get away without using the pro disc riser?( saw the pro powder measure hit the safety prime when indexing)& with the 3 hole turret, is it the same problem with the stripping out of the plastic square bit that iraqiveteran had when he did the review of the classic turret press. i have purchased 1 myself n have had no problems with the indexing yet, but think i will machine 1out of stainless b4it does

  • If you were looking at buying a press would you buy this one or go for broke and buy the Lee Load Master. I already have the Lee Breech Lock Challenger press and have been drooling over the Loadmaster .

  • This is VERY informative. I plan to purchase the Lee Classic Turret very soon. Any advice before I send away for it. could you give advice as to where the best company would be for me to purchase it thru? Like maybe MidwayUSA? I know I will need extra items other than just more Dies. I'd appreciate your help. Sincerely, JAMES.

  • I love listening to you guys on the Personal Armament Podcast. I recently listened to an episode on safety. You were talking about sympathetic primer discharges. Forgive my terminology, but will the little white gizmo attached to the disc shaped primer holder separate the primer being loaded from the ones in the holder? It seems a sympathetic discharge that close to a bunch of powder would be bad.

  • @bigdogfart Real bad. We will do a demonstration of this on video at some point.

  • @ammosmith hey ammosmith, really learned alot from your vids but i have a question. i got the lee pistol 4 die set which had the decapper and resizing die in one. i got the lee 3 deluxe 223 die set and the decapper and sizing die are not one. is there anyway i can remedy this because i want to use the auto powder measure like i see in so many videos.

  • Nice video. How accurate is the powder measure and which one is it?

  • @Penn3Mascot It's Lee powder measure and it's pretty accurate. .1gr.

  • Is it true that you can swap out turrets? So you only have to set a turret once per caliber?

  • @okiegunman Yes this is true. If you are loading for several calibers you can get extra turrets. Then you only have to set them up once.

  • my bullet seating die has to be readjusted every couple of shells.......what can I do to make it more consistent?

  • sir i buy my lee classic turret press and i like it very much but im upgrade my auto safety primer feeder that i design my own

  • Just wandering, but doesn't the seating die actually put a taper crimp and the factory crimp die put a roll crimp?

  • @fredrodta No...the oposite

  • No. The seating die can put a crimp, if you want, but the factory crimp die will crimp according to the caliber. The only ammunition that gets a roll crimp are revolver rounds. Semi's just get a taper.

  • @asoul576 Exactly.

  • Did you make that bench or buy it? If so, where from?

  • Custom built by a cabinet maker. It's the NRA bench but made from hard rock maple.

  • Flare and Crimp die question. I'm planning on loading .45 acp shells with Remington bullets. How should I adjust the flare and crimp die?

  • Look in our play list...we have a tutorial for that.

  • I have a Dillon 550B, 650, Lee CCT and the regular collection of single stage presses and always find myself going to my Lee CCT.

  • Im new to reloading and still shopping but thanks to this vid and some newb advice from the firing line it looks like this unit is going to be my first reloader. Im building a ar15 for hp competition so cleaning the primer seat is a must, will i be able to remove the punch out pin on the deprime/resize die? Your help is and will be appreciated

  • Yes you can back out the decapping pin bit do not remove it as the expander ball is part of it.

  • Thanks

  • The piece that seats the primer gets stuck and falls out did that happen to you too or I'm I just unlucky

  • Yes it did. Lee will replace it , just let them know that it's warped.

  • Fantastic video. Very informative.

I am about to buy a reloading press and this video definitely convinced me to buy a lee classic

  • It's a good press. Safer than a captive progressive press.

  • Thanks for taking the time to post these, right now I am on the fence between this press and the rcbs starter kit, the biggest round I will be working with will be 7.5x55 swiss, any downsides to the larger rounds other than buying the bigger discs for the powder thrower?

I went ahead and bought the rcbs beam scale because it seemed to be of better quality than the lee.

  • I am not sure this will load anything over 3" long. I still need to try the rifle dies in it. You will want to trim your brass every two or three loadings. The RCBS scale is light years better than the Lee one...sorry Lee your scale kinda sucks.

  • nice stuff sir whre did you buy and how much it cost

  • do you always have to trim the case, and you don't have to lube the case with these dies is that correct?

  • I trim them to make sure they are all the same length. Most automatic pistol cartridges (except for the bottle necked ones) headspace off the mouth of the case so it's important to measure them especially for the 40 S&W. You don't need to lube when using carbide dies but you do if they are plain steel dies.

  • funny... I accidentally turned the volume up all the way, it's normally mid range, and i discovered elevator music...? ammosmith... have you always played elevator music in the background? jeez... what ever floats ur boat man. lol, jk. great vid otherwise and as always, lol

  • I have one that is a mix of the two. the bottom is like the old one you showed and the top is like the new one. My biggest gripe is that after time the clamp that holds the indexer and the ram together (made of cheap plastic) just falls apart and it quits indexing.

  • Love all youre videos. Wish they were on when I started loading, I wouldnt have had to figure it all out on my own. Am NOT a fan of Lee presses tho, they feel like cheap kids toys. I do have a couple Lee trim components but I only use them for annealing and polishing. Great videos tho.

  • I have had this die set for a while now and I love them.

  • sorry my bad , i didnt know that the pistel and rifle crimp dies didnt look alike , sorry

  • Don't worry...it's a new die to me too.

  • another great video , is that a new style of factory crimp die ?? that factory crimp die is nothing like the lee factory crimp dies i have ,

  • another excellent vid! keep them coming!

  • Comment removed

  • Good idea...it's not really that much in the way but it seems to be an essential piece of gear.

  • Hello,

Thanks for the great vids. I really like the tannerite ones! In fact your videos started me reloading my own ammo. Anyway, you may want to look into the Lee Auto Disc Riser to help the powder measure to clear the Safety Prime device. It's like a $7 part. I load 99.9 percent of my ammo on a turret press myself! Thanks again for all you videos!!!

  • Nice review. I have one of the old lee turret presses like you have but I neutred it and run it single stage. I use it only for my pistol ammo but I'm about to convert it to a 4 hole turret. My only problem with it is the cast aluminum linkage and handle but thats ok! Nice not having to reset your dies... just buy another turret for your new pistol dies and run with it. I reload all my rifle on an RCBS rockchucker.

  • Great review! Very informative and thorough. One question: How important is the factory crimp die for handgun loads (9mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP)? I've heard differing opinions on this issue. Thanks again for all your help and information!

  • I never thought much about Lee loaders I've been a RCBS man, but I think there's room on the bench for two loaders. Thanks for a great vid

  • Again real good job with this and all others videos you post 5 stars

  • Five Stars!!

  • love the dvd

  • Excellent review of the lee products. Thanks so much for taking the time to pass on such great information.
