God of Baha'is in jail Is it possible for God in prison, which is the creation of the world had denied him to be seen as one of his loved ones "(the book shown vol. 1, p. 181
The God Bahais believe in is the same God that you read about in the Qur'an, the same loving and just Creator Jesus spoke about in many of His parables This might be an important piece of information for you. Peace be on all.
And among the teachings of Bah'au'll'ah is that religion must be in conformity with science and reason, so that it may influence the hearts of men. The foundation must be solid and must not consist of imitations. -'Abdu'l-Bah'a I agree with the last comment the Bahai Temples are also silent teachers of the Bahai Faith and are a gift for the whole of humanity to enjoy and a quiet place for all of humanity to come together and pray together.
IMHO, this temple represents one of the few uniquely redeeming qualities of the BF. For me, it was actually a gateway OUT b/c it got me interested in the truth about Buddhism; a faith that Bahais falsely claim to be revealed by the JudeoXianIslamic "God". In fact, the Buddha was explicitly NON-theistic! If he was truly a "Manifestation" of Yahweh, why would he deny "Him"? The Bahai Faith, rather than helping Yahweh, is actually a nail in "His" coffin given all of its distortions and BS!
I'm buddhist, and I wouldn't say Lord Buddha denies God, nor he affirms Him. It's just one of Buddha's Unanswerable Questions. Beyond affirmation or negation. But yes, it makes absolute non sense to say that Lord Buddha is a manifestation of God, considering what he taught.
That's a respectful term that buddhists use to refer to him. He didn't consider himself a God or a Creator. Anyway, it doesn't relate to his noble origins.
And he didn't actually deny or affirm anything related to a Creator God. He rather focused on suffering and it's extinction. That's what buddhism is all about.
Oh ok, I practice meditation daily, I find that it is extremely good for relaxation, and interestingly if you study after about 30 minutes or so of deep meditation you can usually find that you absorb knowledge much better.
Buddhism definitely has important concepts, I just don't understand how one could let go of ego and be a part of theism simultaneously. Even though I am a theist, I try to seperate the two practices. Of course I am not a true buddhist either.
Theism, makes sense to me... Baha'i doesn't really. Buddhism makes sense to me, of course not in all parts. I don't think it is needed to deny faith in a divine being. I just don't think people know who the being is for sure.
Actually, we just don't bother much about it. If you feel theist, go on. But we focus on becoming buddhas to deliver the sentient beings from suffering, what involves meditation, morals and wisdom. No need to discuss about God.
Hi. I'm glad that I was notified of new dialogue here. I need to say that, since my first post, I've come to a deeper "Rosetta-Stone-like" understanding of things:
1) God = Deep Compassion Reified
2) Deep Compassion = The Logic/Impetus behind the Golden Rule
3) The Golden Rule/Compassion for human suffering = The inspriation behind the Buddha's non-theistic quest that enabled him to derive the 4 Noble Truths.
Hence God = Kwan Yin = Shakti = Golden Rule = Compassion! East and West United!
Right. Okay, scratch 'human suffering' and just put 'sentient being suffereing' and you cover everybody. My point is, that's DEEP Compassion. A theist could argue that "God", having 'Created' all living beings, embodies Compassion for ALL sentient (or pain-feeling) beings. After all "He" made them too! Hence the fact that the Buddha managed such depth of Compassion (karuna) rendered him (in Bahai eyes) a 'Manifestation' of DEEP Compassion (i.e. what Bahais might call "God")! :-)
to you my friend,i am bahai so to tell you.the lotus temple is for the bahai's of all over the world.we are a multecultural.one of the principal of the bahai faith is unity of religions unity in divercity unity of mankind.
We will just have to trust their judgement then won't we Julian.

If the Baha'i Faith ever succeeds in dumbing down religion in India this world won't be worth living in any more.

Just curious, why is he a Lord? Is it because of his earthly nobility or is he raised to a theistic level himself?
I don't mean that in mockery, I just seek enlightenment. ;)

Sure. But Shakyamuni Buddha's quest was based on compassion (karuna) not only for humans, but for all kinds of sentient beings.
