Nice video. There are still a lot of those electro-mechanical signal control boxes (or CB's, as contractors refer to them as) around where I live. One in particular, on the intersection of Baychester Avenue & Bartow Avenue, in the Bronx, was replaced with a newer, larger digital model in 2010. Naturally, they are not as appealing to me as the older CB's made by Marbelite. Sign of the changing times, I'm afraid. Thanks for the video!
@mcorivervsaf Electro-mechanical signal controllers are truly fascinating, especially how they operate. Prior to at least four years ago, every signalized intersection in the city of New York was controlled by an electro-mechanical signal controller. The process of replacing them with modern, computerized signal controllers is fairly slow as of now. This one is a Marbelite M-30. Marbelite and G.T.E. electro-mechanical signal controllers are used throughout New York CIty.
