Oh my gosh... I love your music and I love your clip. I started watching this clip for the first time just now and despite all its awsome effects and the fact that I think you guys have osme of the awsomest clips ever, the song was so good I couldnt help but get up and dance! You guys rock!

Well, while it would be amazing to have an entire music video animated on an etcha-sketch, you have to consider some things

Sketching every frame that would take at least 3 hours for each frame

That would take way too long

Its easier to make an animation and place it in the etch's frame

Totally! Besides, i'm an animator and film director. My intrest lies in selling the illusion of reality. Animation in general is a time consuming affair and doing this frame by frame on an etcha sketch would not have produced better results. It would only have taken waaaay more time and pleased the etcha-nerds.

honest;y that is claiming to had done it on a etcha sketch you should be more specific. If your going to use a gimmick like etch a sketchs expect people to be let down when you dont actually use it

I highly doubt this video will effect your etch a sketch career so relax.Can't you just enjoy something for what it is? You just come across as a bitter guy with a lot of time on his hands. yes it IS an etcha sketch. took about 3 or 4 months to do all the animation

I am a professional Etch-A-Sketch artist of 5 years, and find it VERY hard to believe that ANY of the images were drawn on, or animated with an actual Etch-A-Sketch. It looks alot more like CGI and photoshop to me. What's the REAL story?

If you've been for 5 years and you don't think that most of those images were done on Etch-A-Sketch your obviously not very good. Wasted years. I've seen hundreds of things better than that done by amateurs.

please google kyle fleming + etch a sketch, to find me on the cover of every national news paper in canada, and links to countless internationally released tv shows. A single etch of mine has brought upwards of $3000. then search for etch animation. you will find only 3 (actual) videos, none of which look anything like this. then tell me the name of the artists who allegedly did THIS video, and direct me to his/website. did you even bother looking at MY videos?

freeze frame at 1:09, and again at 1:40, to see the guitar pickup NOT CONNECTED to the rest of the image with a line. If you understand how an Etch-A-Sketch works, you will realize this to be an impossibilty.

the video IS tight. I enjoy it. the "fight" is about whether or not the etch-a-sketching is legit, as the band claims it to be. I feel it isn't. as a professional etch-a-sketch artist, i also feel it is my business to question people who claim legitimacy, and undermine the authentic works of myself and others. if you were in the olympics, and all the other copetitors were on steroids and getting away with it, but you were honest with the public and were not, how would you feel? slighted?

i have no problem with the video, or it's use of cgi. when you want to make something like this, you have 2 options, you can pay a very select few artist to do it, or you can use cgi. i have no problem with the cgi. what i have a problem with is claiming it is not. special effects are not the issue, honesty is.
