  • They need to field this.

  • when i have kids if my kid said i wanted to play a flute i would disown them if they were gay but played a low brass instrument it would be fine but a trumpet is pushing it a bit

  • Beautiful tone! Very well done! Bravo BK.

  • i think this is one of the best low brass dci ensembles on youtube dont worry about the negative comments they just hatters... you guys are most of the time sooo in tune.... i like it...

  • come on man, where my trombones out? beautiful sound btw

  • @MoDeRnNeRo its drum corps they don't use slide trombones, they play marching baritones

  • its things like this that make me wanna do a drum corps. i miss marching band a few weeks after its over and now im going off to college so i have no competition aspect anymore. things like this make me wanna do it even more. hopefully knights will have room for me this next season, if not i will try other corps too

  • how did they place?

  • not bad guys, I marched 00-01 blue Knights on bari

  • haha coming from a tuba player in myself: GO TUBAS!!!

  • Tuba is the greatest instrument ever invented... But then I may be slightly biased lol Good job y'all

  • Totally agree that the tone and intonation is excellent but this does sound like warm up material. Generally the music piece is taken into account when scoring. No matter how well you play if the piece is as "easy" as this, you're not going to score very well compared to those who chose a more challenging piece.

  • true

  • what is that big horn called ?

  • @earthboundPSI contra bass. (marching tuba)

  • @JKSCHERMAN ahh , ok thanks , but one more thing , i thought that was called a sousaphone

  • @earthboundPSI well a sousaphone is a kind of marching tuba. but these are contra basses. in my opinion contras are easier to tune and have a much darker fuller sound than a sousa can give.

  • the baritone player takes away from the effect, learn to play together without conducter. overall great sound

  • What a great year for BK low brass, truly miss that and playing this piece....what a glorious piece of music it is!

  • jizzed a little

  • I love low brass, but this sounds like warm up music.

  • this music is intriguing

  • sounds like a warm up

  • Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good sleepytime music

  • She is simply conducting, back off people

  • That was nice, but yes from a visual prospective it would have been better having the conductor on the end, the it wouldn't have been like it was looking like a member was moving out of place.

Great though, having this ensmeble playing on their own with their own conductor, and not someone in from of them.

  • @tdjmusic They had to put her in a position where she could be seen.

  • he is giving them down beats for the song idiots. and the guy in the first part of this video is annoying as hell.

  • Go Dieter!

  • dude, Nine sounds so beautiful right here. I cried

  • btw thats a girl conducting...her name is mary

  • no offence but i herd NO lord of the rings i just herd BEAUTIFUL chords

  • Lord of the Rings boys and girls

  • People do understand that he's conducting, but the amount of movement he's making is absolutely absurd! I've played in several professional brass groups, and that much movement is just uncalled for.

  • do people not understand that that person is moving cause they are conducting?

  • that one guy moving.. distracts me from the rest of the ensemble

  • I want to audition on baritone for the up coming season. I really want to be in this group.

  • @Mindfor2012 .... please say you were kidding...

  • @TheBilsk That was two years ago. I made it and this is going to be my 3rd year marching here. It's nice to look back on old comments. lol

  • all about that bass baby. rock on euphoniums.

  • Very nice sound, but stand still f' chrissake. I mean, who is this, the fucking Cascades??? Anyone with talent and years of practice can harmonize beautifully, but it takes a real man to stand up straight. That's why BK is too fruity to be allowed.

  • I'm very certain he was doing that for sake of tempo. Harmony and time are completely different. Get off your high horse.

  • You really are an idiot, don't have children. Please for everyone's sake.

  • I love the harmonizing. :) Its so good!!

  • you have no clue what drum corps is do you

  • lol, I'd say thats obvious

  • Bones? Really? And music doesn't have to be fast to be good. Being a musician is about playing it all...not just the fast stuff.

  • its called simple yet effective moron

duke of douche bag is more like it

  • cool video but one too many contras

  • its dci

    they dont use trombones

  • that stinks. i wish they did...

  • Trombone is a man's instrument. Well, I guess if it make marching easier, use bugels. I started on euphonium, but it takes more to play trombone.

  • I agree

  • I play low brass, and I love playing the T-bone, Best Jazz Instrument ever. But for uber-precise tuning, they arent all that great.

  • @BackwoodsBackman if someone is out of tune on a trombone, that is entirely the players fault. trombone is a brass instrument that SHOULD always be in tune, due to the slide.

  • @BackwoodsBackman t-bone player for 4 years now , u ?

  • @BackwoodsBackman They're the best at being in tune....

  • Yeah, it's ashame that there aren't any Trombones since they're all supposed to be Bugles. A lot of Corps are switching over to Bb and F instruments.

I do get your point, at least I hope I do, about the balance. We all love bass and all, three Contras ruin it's balance of what might be Baritones, or Euphoniums, or both. Two would make the balance better, one on each side.

  • Contras! *drool*

  • guys im tingling

  • Ok, dont watch my video and then make some 5th grader comment. How old are you? Do you not understand how complex this is? First of all, the first song was Lord of the Rings, and then Nin Silli Nessnie, and Russians Men Choir Piece. If you dont understand it. Please dont infest my page with your immature comments. Eat a Gun.

  • anyone who loves music knows it can communicate in many different forms not just fast notes all the time.. why do you think they won second place. even if you are really talented thats still a really dumb thing to say.

  • You may know a thing or two about music, but it's shoved to far up your ass to find, much less use

  • That comment was for Dwayne, by the way.

  • there's a huge difference between playing the notes and being musical. these guys are musical. that's what chorals are for; to be musical. pure tone, perfect chords. it should stir the soul. if you think music's just about playing fast notes, then i feel very sorry for you. expand your horizons and watch what you say about a vid next time! :) btw, i'm glad you're majoring in music at TU so maybe your teachers will tell you this too.

  • You may have gotten a full ride, but you ruin all of the prestige you had by being a complete asshole.

  • Transylvania U? Wow...big stuff there. You can be...wow, APPLIED music major there. That's like...almost a real performance major. Congrats! Maybe you should stop talking until you actually have something to back up what your saying other than a "full ride" for your applied musicianship major.

  • How much musical talent does it take to get a full ride at Po-Dunk university? You should know, being a tuba player that our money notes in ensemble playing are long low notes.

  • Interesting way to deter immature comments (?Eat a Gun?) especially from the land of Columbine High. I would say that Dwayne Dumas may have won that sparkling exchange. Shame. By the way, they're good players, but they're not breathing through the phrases in the first piece. Maybe concentrate more on blowing and less on blowing up, no?

  • @airsoftmaniac345

Complex? Really? Not at all man. Its good for what it is but dont act all high and mighty just because you can. Want complex? Dont play Lord of the fucking Rings try Bruckner or Respighi. Yes I do know what I am talking about. Yes I understand music. No this isnt hard. But yes it was nice. Lastly its Nini Sili Nebesniye.

  • @dwayne917 wow seriously? if you are in band, quit. If not, go kill yourself

  • sounds really cool!

  • Sounds good but what's up with the euph conducting? I know they're part of a larger ensemble that usually has a drum major but for any sort of chamber ensemble you have to internalize the beat. It looks very awkward with one of their members moving their horn and I'm sure it reeks havoc on the sound.

  • You can't internalize fermatas.

  • what a gorgeous piece

  • very tight.

  • Awesome!

  • look!

they have their instruments in the wrong direction!

  • Well balanced. I liked it.
