Totally agree that the tone and intonation is excellent but this does sound like warm up material. Generally the music piece is taken into account when scoring. No matter how well you play if the piece is as "easy" as this, you're not going to score very well compared to those who chose a more challenging piece.

@earthboundPSI well a sousaphone is a kind of marching tuba. but these are contra basses. in my opinion contras are easier to tune and have a much darker fuller sound than a sousa can give.

That was nice, but yes from a visual prospective it would have been better having the conductor on the end, the it wouldn't have been like it was looking like a member was moving out of place.

@BackwoodsBackman if someone is out of tune on a trombone, that is entirely the players fault. trombone is a brass instrument that SHOULD always be in tune, due to the slide.

Yeah, it's ashame that there aren't any Trombones since they're all supposed to be Bugles. A lot of Corps are switching over to Bb and F instruments.

I do get your point, at least I hope I do, about the balance. We all love bass and all, three Contras ruin it's balance of what might be Baritones, or Euphoniums, or both. Two would make the balance better, one on each side.

Sounds good but what's up with the euph conducting? I know they're part of a larger ensemble that usually has a drum major but for any sort of chamber ensemble you have to internalize the beat. It looks very awkward with one of their members moving their horn and I'm sure it reeks havoc on the sound.
