Nice video, but I wished there was more demo in the demo...i.e., using lap memory system and START/SPLIT button--I'm new to this kind of watche--presenty shopping--and need one to us for track events recording multiple laps, which I think is this watches key feature--but is not demonstrated. Go Army :)
I've just ordered one via Ebay after seeing your informative video. Is the band quality ok? I just afraid the band will not last long after seeing some negative comment in the official website for this watch.
Greatful if you could advise us, we are all looking forward your test report and comment on the potential band problem :)
@joesze720 - Yes, the band will fail after 2-3 years of use. I never remove mine from my wrist and have had 3 of these watches in different generations over the past 15 years. I once found a replacement band at a drug store display for about $10, 1/4 the cost of a new watch, and bought it since the watch still worked fine. I wear this watch scuba diving, showering every day, and doing every other activity.
my girlfriend got me this for my b-day and i love it! it does everything i could want a watch to do. i havnt swam with it yet, idk if i should trust it? any help?
Can you turn off the bipping sound when you flip through the guides? Because i have i Ironman and it is not the same watch but it turns off the sound. The lady I spook to at the store said it turns off on any Ironman watch.
I am a long time timex wearer. I had the first version of this watch. Timex got rid of one of the best features on the watch with this new generation. You no longer can "peek" at the chronograph from the main screen while your working out. On the old version, you could press a button and literally "peek" at how long you had been running. After you released the button, it would go back to the time of day. This was a great because it was instant and kept you from staring at the chrono
Beg to differ with using this as a "beater". Had mine for almost 2 years as my daily work /weekend/watersport/travel timezone and alarm watch. Love all the functions and readable dial. It has taken SO MUCH abuse on my job and has almost no scratches! Highly recommended
The interval timer is pretty awesome, and complex with memory and other features. Actually, running is a perfect application for this watch. It's light on the wrist, the display is large for quick reads, and the buttons are easy to push and very responsive. I run with my iControl watch, but this would be my backup.

Would you recommend this one or the Timex Men's Ironman Endure Shock 30-Lap Resin Strap Watch #T5K195?
capoeira26 2 years ago
Good Q. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. This one has better tech, but the Endure is tougher. I'm not sure which one I'd choose.

@simplyseven007 Have you got a video on the Endure?

what does the 100 m water resistant mean?
purpletigersarecool 2 years ago
It means that it can be submerged in water at an acceptable depth of 100 meters. This watch can be worn when swimming and snorkelling.
Ryriles 2 years ago
...just don't push any buttons when it is submerged in the water because water might seep into the watch.
Great design by John, Gali and Gary

that you'd be able to go swimming with it

Thanks for posting this vid, hard to purchase a watch online based on the blurb alone. Nice to see someone take the time to go through the features.

Good to know, but I would still say that this watch compared to my G-shock is analogous to a Kia sedan compared to a Jeep Wrangler.

great review! I read an article about this watch and it has an interval timer setting. Have you tried the interval timer setting yet? How is it ?
Since you mentioned that it doesn't very shock resistant, would you recommend this watch for a runner that is trying to do interval training?
Thanks in advance.
