  • i played edh group and still got knocked out 1st :p

  • Seems like fun.

  • OMG insane ! :D

  • Wow, what nerds .. LOL

  • you will get 2nd place every time

  • This funny as hell. The deck will guarantee u stay around for a while, cause everyone will love u.

  • Oh wow, looks like I'm not the only one who came up with this idea. Only my Best Friend deck has a strict "non-detrimental, non-selfish" rule. Those kill, counter, bounce, discard, wipe and target (single) player spells aren't in my deck. Plus mine is 5 color, using Karona mostly for the mana freedom but also to bring out when it's time to end the game. Cool variation though, nice to see other people playing these kind of decks.

  • New addition for this deck would be Rites of Flourishing. I'm always happy when someone drops that.

  • Ah, my main EDH deck does this too, but has a way to win only if a player really gets out of hand.

  • "that's a good card" on almost every card, lol

  • love. this. deck.

  • There are many ways to win, with this deck. Most of the times i have Heartbeat of Spring+Palinchron =infiniti mana + Draw X cards or can't realy remember the name its a creature its abylity is "2:~ deals 1 damage to each player and each creature.Every player can use the effect.

  • GIVE US DECKLISTS FOR YOUR VIDS!!!!

    Pretty please.

  • @WishIWasAMuppet

For Pete's sake, watch the video and you HAVE the decklist...

  • imagine boldwyr heavyweights effect in these colors... that would be awesome. Maybe he had one i wasnt listening for a large portion of the video :P

  • i have this deck with only one win condition..temple bell and mind over matter...temple bell and mind over matter are just awesome on their own...plus i added a vigor so i dont kill myself with the combo..and vigor is just a good card..chumps like a boss when other players dont like what your doing

  • awesome deck!

  • you could just put the three on color pacts in the deck to possibly win when you feel like it. Just saying.

  • where do you guys live, nice magic community, i live in balears and there no maigc around here

  • This looks like it would be very annoying to play at the same table as. It's more of an annoy everyone deck, maybe fun for the person playing to play, but I think it's the opposite of a hug. More like a group kick in the nuts.

  • can i get a list of those cards?

  • This Deck looks like so much fun to play

  • the deck sounds fun to play, plz send me the deck list plz

  • The new card rating system!

    Rating out of 10

    1/10 - Not that gud

    3/10 - Quite gud

    7/10 - Really gud

    10/10 - Really, really gud!

  • you should throw in a walking archive then you help people but it could end up also being your decks only win condition if you deck all of your opponents as a group... mabey just add in an elixor of immortality and a primal command as well.

  • i built this deck and people have found it more anoying than fun. It screws up the gamestate and makes people do things that they otherwize they could not ( a turn 2 ulamog). I removed all the anoying stuff and replace it with wrath effects. You would be suprised as to how much people try to kill you when you are helping oponents. This deck needs WAY more control like things that kill artifacts, enchantments and creatures, prevent damage and stop people from killing you.

  • @adamtaylorize

You should stop playing with jerks.

  • @adamtaylorize sounds like you play with a bunch of bell ends.

  • Hmmm... I wonder if there was ever an accidental mill?

  • Temple Bell, the newest best thing for Group Hug

  • I'm so building this!

  • It looks like it might be a fun deck to play. I would honestly be gunning for this guy immediately because of the fact that it helps all players. so the other 2 opponents are also getting good cards. If hive mind wasn't out and he played trade secrets and it was targeting me, I would make him draw 4 cards until he was drawn out. With hive mind, that could make everything end up in a draw as everyone targets each other and makes everyone else draw out! Pacts would be a win con with hive mind.

  • @ParentheticalMagic he draws up to four cards on trade secrets. I have 10 of them they're my trade secret.

  • @ParentheticalMagic trade secrets says up to, so you can stop drawing when you want.

  • if you have hive mind, you might as wellthrow in the pacts, just to be a plot twist, he who giveth, taketh away!

  • @mtg4noobs

    Oh god YES

  • LOL... omg i love this deck. You become the least threatening player and thus if you have even a minor win con... you win. They don;t care so long as you are helping them. Then you just keep helping everyone in the back while you set up your board. Then form no where. WIN. I don't know how, but you need to find one.

  • Decklist?

  • I think he missed the ultimate fun card (in my opinion), cultural exchange.

  • haha i gotta be honest. . .at first i thought this was just stupid, but then started to watch what cards he's running. . .and it hit me.

    funnest f'ing edh deck EVER!

    haha i love it!

  • White/Green/Blue? I would use creatures with exalted to give more power when atacking with Phelddagrif

  • my friend made a group hug deck simaliar to this one...

there was no turn order, everyone drew 5 cards per turn, and when he felt "nice" at the end of the game he gave some one infinite turns...

  • I have a mono red "group hug" deck. Funnest games of magic I've ever played and it gives you space to screw around with jank.

  • @MyDormantSoul mono-red group hug? i'm curious about how a red deck can help others

  • it's taken me a while but i have built and improved this deck. the best addition, dreamhalls.

  • you should post a decklist

  • add new frontiers.

    group hug-ness

  • Add rites of flourishing, definitely the most popular card in our playgroup.

  • What other lands are you playing? Could you post a decklist?

  • Not winning has never been so fun!

  • I was thinking another great win condition for this deck would be to put in the pacts of the same color except for the pact of negation since that would be pointless with hive mind.

  • @mssj4gokou boooooooooo! evil play!

  • @mssj4gokou It's not supposed to have a win condition.

  • the idea is an interesting deck, what it does is create total chaos and deplete decks, thorw a few mill stones and you watch your oponent draw to many cards. That's how it looks on papaer but what looks good on paper isn't always true

  • how do i make the back of the card

  • Comment removed

  • you never talked about the lands other then the i help you lands. i'm really thinking of playing this build at my play group since i'm starting to not have fun with them anymore.

  • This deck sounds like so much fun to play with or against!

  • The "Bad Braids" Is banned because she EDH is a fun format and she is the Least fun general of all (making other people sacrifice things...) Not because she is SO incredibly "broken"...

  • @ElrohirTiwell she was a general of mine back when edh started. Turn one, swamp then sol ring or mana vault or mana crypt. Turn two, swamp then braids., Turn three sacrifice a swamp then play swamp and something else. It was incredibly broken.

  • @ElrohirTiwell I built a "bad braids" edh deck

  • @TheBadassKitten you can totally win with this deck!

  • i knew billy mays didnt die

  • Good Braids and Bad Braids??

Black Braids is so good, she's banned as a general.

  • your deck would be the first to kill. How no one else sees this deck as the biggest threat I have no idea.

  • Yeah, he's the biggest threat because he doesn't have any ways to win and he lets ME draw cards! That's brilliant thinking sir.

  • you must not be aware that any creature is a win condition, Also, anyone who lets everyone draw cards including your opponents is the biggest threat. You seem to be a moron and think just you are drawing all these extra awesome cards, but your not. Your enemy also gets the same card advantage, putting you at a disadvantage. Group hug decks are the first target in any edh game.

  • @elements705 I know this is a pretty old comment, but I just wanted to make a point. This deck gives EVERYONE card advantage, therefore you and your opponents are all getting your best spells. If that puts you at a disadvantage, then that means your deck was not good enough to win anyways, regardless of whether the group hug player was in the game or not. Group hug really is not the biggest threat. it actually does its best to even the battlefield.

  • @squirrelxk2 well clearly you don't understand card advantage. Ok, I will simplify it. Imagine there are four guys and you are one of them. You are all enemies to each other, and one of your enemies decides to hand out guns to each of you. Now you may have a gun but your three enemies all have guns now as well with the potential of all three deciding to shoot you. Now you know the next thing he is going to hand out are sub machine guns and will gradually hand out stronger things, who do you kill

  • @elements705 I would kill anyone besides the group hug because I love it when weird stuff happens. my two edh decks are a pheldagriff build based off this one and a jhoira chaos deck. I don't care whether I win, as long as its entertaining. You are obviously a spike. We have completely different play styles and goals, so this conversation will go nowhere fast. I do understand your argument though, and if you care about winning, it is a valid one.

  • @squirrelxk2 well if you don't want to win yeah then I understand. I play in edh tournaments and stuff so I am quite competitive when it comes to edh. Ill build this deck sometime to see if it's possible to have fun and lose.

  • @elements705

Obviously you kill the other people with guns. If you take time to kill the guy handing out guns, for free I might add, then you are open to getting shot by the other people with guns. You use the free guns to slaughter the other gun users and then in the end cake walk over the gun giver because he doesn't have any guns.

  • It's not "fun", it's annoying when your opponents get to drop simic sky swallowers and darksteel colossai for free off a tempting wurm when all you have is something not as good. Sounds to me like the biggest threat.

  • @elements705

You don't get the deck. It's supposed to be fun to play against as well. I think everyone that plays against this deck will smile all the time at the obscure friendly cards. Ofcourse it sucks to see those big creatures entering the battlefield, but if it makes them happy, let them enjoy it for FREE! =D If you play with Grouphug, you'll be loved by all players at the table. A friend of mine is playing Jhoira... everyone dislikes playing against him.

  • hotness!

  • Where can I get the full decklist? This deck looks like loads of fun!

  • It's really good! -> He says that all the time xD

  • Damn you. All I can hear as he talks now is "really good".

  • He has Hypergenesis but not the original Eureka. I wonder why.

  • I originally built this deck for less than $50, but have since added some prime cards like Cryptic Command and Force of Will. I could see putting Eureka in if/when I get one. Looks like a Eureka goes for $30+

  • sounds like fun
