All of the people who want to say the church condemns science need to really study history. There have certainly be times when the church has had moral qualms about what the consequences of science will be on man, but on a whole the church has funded and promoted science. The catholic church invented the university system. funded and still funds all kinds of scientific research. There is just no justification for accusing the church of being anti-science.

@chistofishman It is true that the RCC is no longer anti science now that it has adjusted it's stance to make room for evolution and a solar system with the sun at the center, but this was not always the case. Make no mistake, the scientific landscape of the past 100 years would have been a lot different if the church still had the power it held a few centuries ago.

I mean, is Copernicus still damned, Kepler, Newton, Einstein, etc. Why is stem-cell a bad thing. It will help save lifes and improve lifes. Do priests go to the doctor? Most medical knowledge was optained by observing corpses.....

It involves experimentation on a blastocyst containing about 150 cells. In comparison, the brain of a common house fly has about 150,000 cells, and few would hesitate to swat a fly for fear of the soul dwelling inside. The catholic arguments are archane and are standing in the way of research that could reduce much suffering.

How and why did this become an argument over Sola Scriptura. The attack is unwarranted really. I was asked to clarify the phrase "Fullness of Faith" as it is used within Catholicity and Orthodoxy. We should remain germain to the discussion at hand. Christ commanded obedience even to those that drive you out of your mind as the highest of virtues. It is in practicing denying our own wills that God instills the confidence to wear His yolk so that we may perform His works in the Faith of Christ.

It can be confusing verbiage here. These Catholic sects are not sects they are fall under the category is different disciplines. If the discipline is different enough it falls under the category of a different rite. There many rites within the Fullness of Faith.

Now there are "Catholic sects" but by comparison, in the manner they've surgically remove themselves from the Body of Christ, the average "Protestant" church group is usually more within the Fullness of Faith (Catholic) than they are.
