A cheap kit'll cost you about £200 ($350), which is good for practice, that or you could invest in a digital kit. Drumming itself is, fairly easy. Rock drumming (especially muse drumming) follows 4/4 time signature, which is the standard "1&2&3&4&" pattern.

im still struggling with that too. Its the main verse. Dom uses the heel-toe technique that I am finding quite hard to master as my feet are *shock* too big! lol

Yeah, that's the only part of the dam song I can't get. I can make it close, but it's still not right. I also have big feet and find heel-toe nigh on impossible :(

there is a technique commonly used for double pedalling when a drummer has the hi hats closed, you just used the heel of your left foot to do the other bass pedal whilst keeping your toe area clamped down on the hi hat pedal
