There's nothing wrong with pitting arthropods, insects or arachnids together to make them fight. This kind of thing happens quite frequently in the wild where two or more large predatory bugs share the same habitat. Nothing cruel or inhumane. What I don't like is how you stuck that stick in between them and broke up the fight. It doesn't matter how much you love your pet tarantula, when it goes up against what appears to be an adult Emperor, it won't stand a chance. Let them fight to the death.
