@sorenfrey I'm assuming it's because you have a router connected. It refreshes. Same thing happen to me. And then I hooked it up directly to the modem and got a static port number. Inputted that. Waited and now the thing is blazing. But yeah.. there should be a way to do it with a router. Looking for a good tutorial video on youtube.

Once youve done this, if it isn't green, go to your control panel > security > windows firewall > allow a program through firewall > find your torrent program on the list, or add it to the list if it isnt there > add port > type in the number.

It still recognises the port number the site gave me as one that isn't open, but my speed increases by 12X. I thank you for the video, it didn't solve the problem, but it atleast brought my speed up. So I thank you. Past 4 days i've been at 2-10 KBS, 2 minutes after changing the port to that number i'm now at 70, and rising, thank you.

I have tried this and I got to tell you, my DL are still slower than hell. The network is ok, I have 10 MB internet, the ports are forwarded like all the directions say. The most I can get is 75kb/sec. Before my OS crashed I could get 6-10 MB.

I suggest you use uTorrent. Azureus is a bit like a fat pig which slows your download speed down because of the fatness.

to check if its working u can go to options-speed tester-then check port thingy at the bottom of the window :D and mine one did not work but u can use any port and your downloads will not change speed just use random port finder it does a better job.
