@luvpole69 Labour are the ones gerrymandering, they were doing it ever since they got into power in 1997. That's how they got a majority with just 35% of the vote in 2005.
@luvpole69 its incredulous to me that changing a way of counting votes requires a complete overhaul of the "entire political system" im feeling the hyperbole button needs to be pressed on that one.
yes everyone knows about Blair and his "vetting" he made labour more conservative than the conservatives.
PR has many different ways to be used and abused just like this current voting system. the idea was to give it a go. if the Scots can manage it.......
@luvpole69 In case you haven't noticed, the traitorous imposters that rule "Labour" abandoned people who labour in the early 1990s. Now they're just a step away from the Tories, with a bit more fanfare - and only on rare occasion - for the working class maj. They should get rid of parliamentary districts entirely & just have 1 district in which PR is the scheme. Either way, until PR is adopted - w or w/o districts - commonwealth states + the US will continue to serve under manufactured consent.
@luvpole69 Ruling middle class voter? Try Ruling Class Oligopolist hegemons...The Tories couldn't give a rat's ass about the middle class - and neither could the traitors who have taken over New Labour. Proportional is the way to restore....Fight hard for it while you can - here in the US we're about as far from fair as slaves in the antebellum south.
Just want to point out that anyone voting No in the AV referendum because they're hoping for a PR referendum instead is dreaming, quite frankly! The only way to force that kind of concession from the government is by voting in pro-reform parties, and AV will at least make it easier to do that (as well as setting a precedent for reform).
This is basically how things will go if people vote against AV:
@luvpole69 hold on their comrade. first of all there is good capitalism and bad capitalism. don't blame the game blame the players. you dont blame all women if you are not getting laid do you?
birlin wall came down not through revolution, strikes are not revolutions either. revolution did not bring down the communism in Russia it fell through its own mismanagement.. communism was created through revolution. thats why its called the "communist revolution"
@rsolgtp WRONG - you should blame the game rather the the individual players. The game itself produces the outcomes, not the marbles, which change every year with a new color or stripe to delude everyone into thinking there is dynamism and progress. Workers should have both a say at work and also receive the value of what they produce - not some asshole with an entitlement to their work called a major shareholder. Not Capitalism, Not Socialism, but Syndicalism is the answer, my friend.
@musicalidea you are inheriting an old and worn out idea passed around by kids in a school yard. believe me. ive not taken anyone's word for it for about 34 years. if there was a system id know about it by now. all these isms are stamped one size fits all solutions hoping to homogenize the world. yes i know. its not difficult to spot. however, in the past 6000 years of recorded civilisation, never has the world been at one or in peace or will be. that's not systemic that's nature. gits exist.
@Crossplat4m If you agree that systematic forms of property relations are invalid in the governance of men, then you reject all governments currently in existence -- as do I (with maybe 2 exceptions)! Yet saying that all systems have their problems & therefore we shouldn't advocate any is tantamount to championing the current, extremely corrupt, and well-defined one that fosters oligopoly. LLCs are a 19th C invention w/ only 200 years of vague precedence be4 that. Now we take it as natural law.
@musicalidea you are damn right i want to champion the current, and move it along. if you sit by the sidelines shouting about how unfair it all is. nature will move on without you. i dont favour any ideology, its name spells out its flaw. you think you know whats right? then rule! if you want the world to be a better place then take it over and change it. thats the only way. watch what sort of resistance pops up. ideology is faith and dogma. whether for or against a god.
Canada needs it too, one of the most screwed parties has been the Greens, the got just under 7%, and just under 1 million votes yet they have no seats
You could go for a mix system like Germany. Hell your people come from Saxony, you virtually are Germans of Britain, so come on. Be like Germany, you know wanna.

@luvpole69 if you decide to draw the lines with 200. you seem to just look for the worst scenario. the exceptions making the rules.

I don't like PR because it removes the constituency link. I like knowing my MP and being able to go speak with them about issues concerning the area.

@luvpole69 the problem with revolution is at the end it always comes back to the same position. lets evolve rather than revolve.

UKIP 1 million votes no seats, that's why i am voting for PR
It's not a political issue, it's an issue of benevolence.

Nice vid thanks for uploading.
No wonder Cleggy baby wants proportional representation. I never realised just how unfair the system was.
They get 6 million voted and only 50 odd seats, yet labour get 8 million and get 200 odd more.
Ridiculous.
