It's been a while since having this tank, actually having a reef at all. It's been almost 3 years since :(
I used to feed this blend a few times a week, feeding pellets for the fish when I didn't feed the mix. Too much feeding can cause a dirty tank.

are you having hair algae problems? try feeding less and try growing chaetomorpha algae in your sump. Chaetomorpha does not go asexual and is easy to keep. Good luck.

This is a great tank but you need a background, even if it's just black paper. Try it, it will look miles better.
