I had the exact same experience of Heaven that this gentleman is speaking of, but in a dream. I was floating in this winding river of water/light, which sparkled like diamonds. I watched the video several times and I am amazed at all the negative feedback this man is getting. Why are people judging him so harshly? What has he done but tell his story so people can get an idea of what he went through? I personally know people who have experienced "the other side" and all the stories are similar. I've been hearing this since I was bout 5 and now I'm over 50. I cannot understand why people are treating him so badly and making so many negative comments. Especially atheists.

Lot of people don't realise, and I work in the medical field so I see this a lot, that people die a lot and still live. After clinical death, you can still come back to life. What this man probably saw was a hallucination after he was revived.

@sunj5976 i always felt as if Death was exactly like sleeping without dreams...no up, no down, no good no bad, no comfort but also no pain.. i essentially believe that sleep is the exact experience of death, and that dreams only manifest because we are still connected to a physical brain. Consciousness (sentience) is a bio-tool for the brain to perceive reality, therefore naturally it creates alternative realities (based on what it has experienced) to cope with the eternity of sleep/death

I've had instances like this when I fell into a deep sleep an felt like my soul was leaving my body.I died in a few of my dreams but somehow woke up alive.God is real,believe it or not,in the quran it even tells you that allah took jesus to heaven with him.Is the god I serve not real?When I almost died two times in a row and called out to him,did he not here me? Of course he did,that is why I'm still here. :)

I was in a coma and I had fascinating dreams after I was out of it. They where after and I'm glad I didn't need to lie to myself or others to make that dream seem real. Life is full of more mysteries then any of these stories. He went through a terrible event and has the scars. It sets an effect in our minds to just agree for sympathies sake. I don't agree. You can't see what's after death until you TRULY die. The only way to know is if your heart stops beating, then it IS death, not NEAR death. Your ending sentence was funny, "again." Astral world? Meditating? I don't believe in that for a reason...But that's another story.

@scottclements78 The massive release of DMT at time of death is only a theory, which hasn't been empirically proven. Even if a release of DMT can account for the NDEs, it doesn't negate the possible truth of a Christian narrative.
If this man is right (which we can't truly know), you may experience a similar experience at deaths door. When the choice of eternal nothingness stands before you one one hand, and forgiveness on the other, I think you will choose the latter.

I am not going to be so arrogant and say that if someone claims to have "met god" or had a religious experience they do not believe this to be true because I am sure they do. However, there is a scientific answer to what probably happened; the theory goes:
