the diference is that wake style dosent include kite loops and free style does, most of the kitesurfing tricks come out of wake boarding so making trick with just the pop and not the kite they are call wakestyle tricks ones you start using the kite as a pull out of the water that becames freestyle but in comp but stilles are accepted
