Nice work!...I play congas primarily, recently I have been asked to play timbale...I am still trying to figure out a solid approach to soloing on the timbal. People don't realize how complicated the timbale can be.
ur right! i play timbal & can't solo if my life depended on it. but then again, u hear alot of great recordings and some of the big timbaleros rare soloed. listen to manny oquendo. my idol but the man rarely soloed on a recording or even live. so i wouldn't worry about it too much but definitely sooner or later learn if you're in the industry for a long time. good luck brother!
