I gotta say, I just hooked my 24in Apple IMAC up to my home cinema...5 heeuuuuge speakers and a subwoofer.......and this just sounds awesome! not quite as good as being there, but the very next best thing!!!!
now this is a great video of a c-5 A galaxy !!! ya i will miss the engine whine of the 39's but if the c-5 M proves to be superior we all would agree to give our nation and the men/women who fly them the best built and designed aircraft possible !!
This is a terrific C-5 departure. Nice, long, lazy turn. Wonderful, yet obnoxious sound. The C-5M with its CF6-80 engines just isn't the same. I was stationed at Altus AFB, OK where they trained C-5 crews for many years. Heard the sound of Galaxies around the clock. Worked on C-5s day and night.
Most people would be hacked off by the noise of that haulin' ass into the air day and night...not me!!! I'd swap houses with you any day! THE most awesome sounding machine on the planet!! Thanks for sharing!

@2008PowerStrokeF450 well there is a house for sale on the street hahah..I was gonna enlist but decided to go to college instead. enlisting aint such a bad idea at all.
I remember seeing one of these beasts take off from Prestwick in Scotland while sat on the beach at Ayr, it followed a couple of cargo 747's which all turned and flew right over us, damn it sounded so awesome in comparison!
This would've been a great video if you had a decent camera!

@no1sailor That may have been me! I've been to Prestwyck numerous times on my C-5 and stayed in Ayr (one time at the Turnberry!). Love Scotland!

Years ago I worked at a summer camp near Stewart and we would get buzzed by C5s regularly. The greatest sound ever, anywhere, period.
