You do realize that some rental car companies now have GPS units installed in them... they are also tapping into onboard monitors. Rental agencies do have rental car bans now. It's not just one rental agency, they share banned drivers lists. Enjoy kiddies :) I don't own a rental car agency or nothing but, I do realize that it is a bit difficult to fly to another city unless you have a car at every other flight destination for life! ouch! You're right. I was looking to buy an Optima and the vast majority were previous rentals. I didn't want that. After looking for a month and about 20 Optimas, I finally found a non-rental in the color combo I wanted. Only bad thing was the previous owner spray painted the engine cover and few other parts silver and gold. Barf! It was such a good price though and I figured I can strip off the spray paint, so I bought it. No regrets. Love the car!

Really? Because I have an '06 (newer body style) and I love mine. It's got about 40k miles on it now and runs like a champ. I don't beat the crap out of it and keep up with maintenance, so that might have something to do with it. Everyone who's ridden in my Kia or driven it thinks it's a nice car. I'd buy another one over an Accord or Camry in a heartbeat.

I buy want I like and can afford. I've owned cars from the US, Asia, Germany, Sweden, and now Korea. No bias here. The '06.5 Optima offered the nicest car for the least amount of money. Only car that came close when I was shopping around was the Chevy Cobalt, but it's smaller, not as good on gas, and has more problems. Only pro to buying one would have been lower insurance rate.
