VFR Real Scenery

I bought all 4 disks at once for the discount and Its really dissapointing to have to leave England and go back to the FSx scenery..I used to think FS scenery was brilliant till I got these...when are you bringing out the rest of the UK and dare I hope for the whole World?.

It's not as easy as that tho. For this full scenery package of England it takes upabout 32GB, so to map out the world you'd need something like a 8000GB hard drive. Although i soppose they could stream it online like google earth.

What does this do to the autogen?Because in all flims Ive seen with this being used it seems to be non - existent.

Only joking but that's what it looks like... stunning! but £75 [if you bey them all at once] just to cover England and Wales - a very small part of the world... It hurts me to say but I'm going to have to give it a miss :(

One thing that bothers me in FSX is the size of the trees. They are WAY too big. If someone knows how to make them smaller please respond.

You don't need a killer PC to run FSX, although obviously you need a modern enough one with high enough specifications. VFR Real Scenery can actually make FSX perform faster than the default scenery due to the way that is is rendered and without the 3D objects, resulting in a more fluid movement and improved framerates.

just looked at specs for anyone interested: * Flight Simulator X  * 2.5GHz+ PC * 512Mb RAM * 128Mb 3D graphics card * Windows XP * DVD-ROM drive * Up to 12Gb hard drive space per volume, depending on choice of installation options

Flight Simulator X actually runs better with the VFR Real Scenery installed than it does with the default scenery, so as long as you can run FSX you shouldn't have a problem.

That is absolutly fantastic! Ive never seen anything like it! What kinda of spec would you recommend to run flight sim X? 2004 runs great on mine! Thanks Stu

We have found that the VFR Real Scenery hugely improves the framerates over what you get with the default scenery, and machines which were getting single figure FPS are able to manage much higher now. Specific settings which we recommend are:

Level of Detail radius -- Large

Mesh complexity - 100

Mesh Resolution - 10 m

Texture Resolution - 1 m

Land detail textures - ticked

Water effects - High 1.x or High 2.x
