It's a total different tune compared with songs from No Line On The Horizon. Critics were probably expecting songs like this on it. I'm deffinetly buying the song if it gets released as a single =D
I think U2's success lies in the search for new sounds and influences...
Their new album, No Line On The Horizon, has arabic influences, especially in songs like Cedars Of Lebanon, Fez-Being Born, Magnificent, Moment Of Surrender and Unknown Caller...

This is a remix of Kingdom of your love or Kingdom whatever you prefer to call it. This is the actual version that was played during the the 360 tour.
@dvescri95 Ah, thanks for posting the lyrics. However, they never sing "soul". They do however sing "soon" multiple times in the beginning and in the end.
Oh you beat me to it! An online buddy sent me this song yesterday and I'd made a video that I was going to upload onto YouTube!! Love this song, stirs up memories of the night I got to see U2 live in Berlin last year!!
I thought this tune was called "Kingdom". All through the 360 Tour this would play and people referred to this "Kingdom". In any case, its a grrreat tune. Cannot wait for the next album. Also, i think its interesting how we all use "Achtung Baby" as the yardstick of how great this or any next album can / will be!
@saba223 It was known as Kingdom for the duration of the 360 Tour, on printed setlists etc. However, U2 released it the other day on a 7" vinyl with the super-deluxe edition of the Rose Bowl DVD/Blu Ray set, and it is clearly labeled as "Soon" there. U2 changed its name somewhere in the process, evidently.
@banksandcathedrals U2 seems to change the name of song titles quite a bit. This song probably was called Kingdom and then changed to Soon.Just like Magnificent was first titled French Disco,Beautiful Day was Jubilee,Vertigo was Shark Soup then Native Son before, and Miami was originally called Super City Mania.
@ Art.. LOL sorry my bad I don't know what I was thinking hahaha. Yes that would be quite a funny title ha. Of course i mean Ascent must go get some coffee. Either way thanks to the OP for sharing. Awesome song and yes it does sound zooropaish!
Wow... this is awesome. It sounds like it could be from Zooropa. I love No Line on the Horizon, but I would be happy with a change in direction like this as well.
Awesome song! This is the direction U2 should take next! If Songs of Accents is in the same style as this, their next album could be as good as Achtung Baby! Bring it on boys! Great song!
I'm upset that this no longer follows Space Oddity to open 360 shows. I get goosebumps just listening to it here, imagine in the stadium :O!!

Hell I'd like to see them actually play this live properly. If you listen to edges guitar at thend theirs a bit of the TUF era in that sound.

This song is a thousand times better than Stingray. We want Soon/Breathe back!!!

@danielsentana I agree 100% with you.The transition between Soon/Breathe is much smoother than Return Of The Stingray Guitar/Beautiful Day.

Very Eno this - but cool.
As for the Miami spammer - what a brilliant rolling advertisment for one of U2's most under-rated albums! Go and buy Pop - it kicks butt.

I Would like that this track and Winter were fit on the album, intead of Crazy Tonight/Boots/Stand Up Comedy
It would be a great great album. Soon is very good and evocative. Very "Enoesque"

Excellent track. Evocative of the gig last year. Should be longer and available to download. Actually it should have been on the album.

And as far as the Miami spammer, to be honest I think it's pretty funny now. I'm a bit bummed when I see U2 vid and I don't see him.

Great song!!
I think U2's success lies in the search for new sounds and influences...
Their new album, No Line On The Horizon, has arabic influences, especially in songs like Cedars Of Lebanon, Fez-Being Born, Magnificent, Moment Of Surrender and Unknown Caller...
U2 is the best band ever!!

@frizer86 Yea I hope they keep this for the 360 tour intro too and also release an extended mix of Soon as a future B Side to one of their singles.

Fantastic song. Haunting. Greatness.
VeritySeeker 1 year ago
These are the lyrics:
Soul
Sing yourself on down the street
Sing yourself right off your feet
Sing yourself away from victory and from defeat
Sing yourself with fife and drum
Sing yourself to overcome
The thought that someone’s lost and someone else has won
