Wonderful! Congratulations. Man, that's a cool video. Sure makes one want to fish. Fished the Rangitaiki a couple of times. Just like this. Flew in. Amazing scenery, water and fish.
No. I'm guessing you could be refering to Chappie Chapman, the 'Godfather' himself! Keep an eye out, as we are working together on a 'Tactics and Casts for Wild Trout' film.
just watched this again, what a great vid! If you ever want to come to Canada for giant Bull Trout just let me know and i'll set you up with the big dogs.
Thanks, oh humble one! Another couple of months and should be back in NZ filming for part 4.Can't wait to get away from this wind-swept hell-hole they call the North East of England....can anyone tell me what sunshine looks like?
Where possible large terrestials such as cicada, but on the fussier fish a small elk hair caddis worked well. Nymphs would probably be more effective, but not as much fun!
Some of the fish in the deep, clear pools are very spooky. I guess that's because they're easy to see and every angler that walks up will have a pop at them. But generally the fish in broken water won't spook unless you drop a clumsy cast or keep chucking up the same fly after a refusal. You don't know until that big head comes out the water and swallows the fly...

Yes, but a lot of walking between sightings required. Easy to forget that bit when I watch the film...
