  • That is not 90 g

  • Isn't a Badis Badis also called a comb-tail? If so I didn't see it but I want that fish. I could be mixing it up with an other

  • What kind of fish is that at 0:37 ? It looks like some type of twig catfish. VERY cool looking.

    Great looking tank.

  • @paducahFishFan royal farlowella, from the amazon.

  • @leephysics I've got two twig catfish in my tank. That one is AMAZING! :-)

  • Amazing plants!

  • The water looks a mite green..

  • The amazon sword was gorgeous!!!

  • I use a mix of natural inert gravel and Flourite because it never goes bad. Man made products like Eco-complete and ADA aquasoil go bad after a few years, most people don't know this because they don't keep it that long.

  • @leephysics ADA doesnt go bad. My substrate is from 2008. It is just a baked clay substrate and since it has a high CEC property it continues to adsorb nutrients from water column.

  • pleaz write back do u use substrate n wat u use to keep ur plants nice n green

  • The second filter was left over from another tank. Eheims don't move as much water as other brands and require more cleanings. I have discus now and if I didn't have both filters they would probably die, they need good water movement for oxygen.

  • Hello. From your description, you're running twin Eheims. I was curious to know why. I have a 75 gallon and was thinking of a 2236. Also I don't see much water movement in the video and I would think with twins running, there would be considerable motion. I'm trying to learn as this will be my first large tank set-up. Thanks much.

  • Do you have a special substrate ? I have sand in my aquarium can i plant ? VN tank

  • @Gixxr11 plants will grow in sand, but it has no nutrient value.

  • @chiraglyf Yes it is, I actually have 3 discus in this tank now. They require good circulation with plenty of oxygen, and to be fed many times a day, with many water changes. Any community fish will work great!

  • @chiraglyf Smaller plecos are ideal. Just make sure it wont grow to be over 8-10 inches full gown. Either filter will work fine, it's personal preference.

  • man thats a great tank for low tech! how do you keep it algae free? just let the sae's and oto's eat the diatoms ect?

  • @Sypha14 The clean up crew and that it's balanced and established helps... it's free of hair algae and brown algae, but it does have "long term" algae on anubias.

  • nothing wrong with simplicity in a planted tank. well done, sir.

  • do you dose your tank with co2???what's your method of maintaining this aquarium??by that i mean the plant's growth, algae etc. nice tank btw.

  • @1989calvindo No CO2. I do a water change once a month, 50%, clean the filter. I don't have algae really, the plants I don't touch.

  • @leephysics hey thanks for your info. its amazing how green your plants are knowing that you do not dose co2 and maintenance is not as much as i thought it was.

  • is that dwarf sag in fore ground

  • @oakcrayfish yep, sure is

  • @leephysics lol, dunno how I removed my comment but yeah, time is the key, just started my planted tank, changed substrate from gravel to sand, got some nice bogwood, then my filter died so i'm waitin for my new one to be delivered, just made a C02 injector so I will post a vid wen its up and runnin.....;)
