In the early 70s I was a young undercover Drug Squad cop and Frank Serpico was my hero. All the other cops call me 'Serpico' and I wore that nickname as a badge of pride. Throughout my 25 year law enforcemt career, I stood by the things Frank stood up for and sometimes that was hard. But in the end it left me as a good cop and I think, a good man. Thank you Frank.

Thanks Boyzee and Toodles. I have both the book and the DVD and am full of admiration for Frank and the others who stood up to be counted. I believe that basically, all cops are good people; it's just that some walk off the path from time to time.

The greatest composer of Greece! I am proud to be Greek and feel a part of this. This is by far my favourite Pacino movie, and the theme makes it even greater !! Love you Al Pacino!!

Oh, I feel exactly the same way. I was just thinking that Serpico IS my favorite Pacino film, by far. This music fills my heart, then it breaks as the melody expands at 1:57. Those yrs still held , somehow, a sign of hope, "the possibility of possibilities." Now at 67, I look around at the world and the light inside keeps dimming.

It seems to convey a heartbreakingly sad feeling about man's willingness to crush all that is good in the world, or could be. Rebecca West said... I would have love meet him as well. I was able to get a couple of younger freinds of mine to watch the film. I was suprised they liked becouse of the slower pace 70s films moved at.

I guess lately I have been thinking to myself "Where have all the good and honest people in America gone to ?" and that's kinds gotten me to love the "Ideal" that Sepico is more then the man himself.

My dad was a policeman in Scotland.A friends cousin came from New York on holiday and he asked dad what do you earn? Dad told him his wages and he said no what do you really earn?Dad re-iterated his wage again and again was rebuffed and the cousin repeated WHAT DO YOU REALLY EARN? Dad was shocked as it began to dawn on him what the question was about.This was an ordinary family man who was a basic cop and clearly on the take.That was back in the early 70's.Familiar story Frank ?
