Actually yes, blacks early on were allowed to own white slaves. Slavery wasn't restricted to any one person or race as long they could afford the slaves. It wasn't until well into the 19th century that african-americans became the majority of slaves in the United States because there were more whites until then. The only reason african-americans were the majority was because, at the time, they were the cheapest source for labor and easily replaced with more.

I have read the declarations. Who ever your history teacher is she gets a F. The reason they succeeded is because of high shipping taxes. The south was not industrialized they had to import factory made items such as cannons. And they entire economy was based on Imports and exports with a 35% tax that really hurt southern states. Actually yes, blacks early on were allowed to own white slaves. Slavery wasn't restricted to any one person or race as long they could afford the slaves. It wasn't until well into the 19th century that african-americans became the majority of slaves in the United States because there were more whites until then. The only reason african-americans were the majority was because, at the time, they were the cheapest source for labor and easily replaced with more.

The war couldn't have been about slavery cause both the USA and CSA had slaves. And both blacks fought for both sides. Actually, one-third of white Southern families owned slaves in 1860, rising to one-half in states like South Carolina and Mississippi. The largest slave owners in both states in 1860 were white. In addition, many more Southerners owned slaves in the past, rented them in 1860, and/or aspired to own them in the future. And you don't have to own slaves to support slavery in principle---just look at you!!!

I'm not American, but I admire the patriotism of Southerners and at the same time mourn the hundreds of thousands of dead young men in the bloom of life, strong branches of American nation cut on a root . The North wasn't perfect by today's standards. Plenty of Allied troops and commanders in WWII were anti-Semitic. But they didn't start the war, and they were a hell of a lot better than the alternative.

I have read the declarations. Who ever your history teacher is she gets a F. The reason they succeeded is because of high shipping taxes. The south was not industrialized they had to import factory made items such as cannons. And they entire economy was based on Imports and exports with a 35% tax that really hurt southern states. The north was fine they made most of their goods. The war started cause they wanted to be their own country. CSA troops fired on Ft. Sumter so the Union would see that.
