  • The most 80's of all 80's commercials. Whoever wrote the jingle is an absolute master because I remembered the words and melody for 25 years. I was talking with some friends at the bar last night about 80's commercials and I remembered this one and sung it. Looked it up on youtube this morning and here it is.

  • the best 31 seconds of passion

  • I prefer Sophi B Hawkins voice to the guy in this one but I prefer the visuals in this commercial over the other one.

  • Grew up with this commercial. Memories!

  • i used to love this candy bar, since they no longer make it, the commercial will do just fine

  • This commercial and song, very hypnotic and very addictive, the tune, everything brings me back to the 80's I was like 8 at the time.

  • Thumbs up if Faith No More brought here

  • The more i listen to this....i am beginning to think perhaps the artist singing is either hall and oates or tangerine dream...but im not sure!

  • anybody know who sings this song? ty in advance

  • That guy that glaces upwards was really hot! haha combined with the rest of the beautiful scenery he is hard to resist!

  • Great commercial, great song-BAD BAD COMPANY, just ask anyone who has ever worked for them!!!

  • Oh wow.. i was like 9 when i saw this in the 80's, the tune's been in my head ever since.

  • in Spanich esta?

  • This song is hypnotic. And I used to love the candy as well. But as a kid who doesn't love candy? Ha!

  • I still think about this tune to this day in my head. i'm 31 yrs old. I guess that was good marketing..geez.

  • @AudioInklined me too

  • this is by far the hottest commercial I ever saw

  • FAITH NO MORE! they should have took their version and put into the real comercial!

  • I can't stop watching this vid... It's addicting to say the least.

  • @Biodude377 SAME HERE

  • @Biodude377 I HAVE WATCHED THIS THING TEN TIMES NOW WHAT IS HAPPEING

  • ha ha the people in that commercial are over the hill in their golden years now

  • Thumb up if you come here after watching Mike Patton's kickass version!

  • mike patton's version was kick ass

  • @boygalak

Yes, I've got this version by Mike Patton, better than original! na!!

  • Candy is so sexy

  • 'Creamy white'.....creamy white what??? BA AHA AH AHAH A AH AAHAA

  • Faith no more's version is better

  • I used to love this song and the dreamy quality of this commercial when I was growing up. I'm glad I found this vid!

  • @spiralshaman same here:)

  • The guy @ 7:00 is so handsome!!!

  • @shellepop I know girl! Almost a superman/clark kent look, dreamy and ummmm creamy...lol...:) cute commercial, great vocals!

  • I loved this ad. Benetton had the best 80 ad music ever

  • this song is slightly arousing in a very strange way.....that guy kinda looks like

    tom brady

  • i love this song. Its a melody that seem to combine joy, sadness, peace, relaxation, comfort, simplicity.

  • @iluvbogs I KNOW! What is it about these things??? i guess cuz its fantasy. I dont even like that chocl. but the commercial i can hear al over again....

  • CREAMY WHITE!

    DREAMY WHIIIIIIITE!

  • Is it just me or does the girl in frame 27 look an awful lot like a young Shannon Daugherty?

  • is it just me or on frame 27, the actress looks an AWFUL lot like a young Shannon Doherty?

  • Extremely high quality video considering it was 24 year old TV commercial, must have been copied from masters?

  • The girl with the hood on is a Jedi.

  • I always remembered this commercial and just thought of it again and found it!

  • the romance of chocolate ~ luv these ol' commericals ~

  • thnxs ~ wantd 2 cee this again ~ snds like alphaville ~ btw

  • @TJae1 hello you, i rather cadburys but yaaa the sound track was ok xx thanks tribble

  • @jillh10 ~ white coco is coolr ~ though :-)

  • Sounds like Alphaville but better with the soulful female backing vocal.

  • This is a hypnotic piece of marketing! I think I'm going to go out and buy some Nestles chocolate now.

  • Unbelievable! So I was looking for this commercial and found the 89 version, but knew there was a swing, or since I was 5 mixed up my memories and there it is. I thought I was the only freak that had an aesthetically contemplative moment with this. For sure not apparently. Now, what are the chords?

  • Thanks for posting. Best Nestle commercial ever and also my favorite. A total Maxfield Parrish influence.

  • OMG This jingle was stuck in my head. I can't believe I found the commercieal. I used to have a crush on the guy with the blue eyes and wanted him to take me away to dream land . Sweet Dreams you can't resist....I used to watch this commercial at night during Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (GLOW) OH the 80's!

  • FNM version is better xD

  • ok who else besides me knew all the words to this while watching this?? lol

  • Holy crap, woman at the end looks like a hybrid of Kristin Stewart, Madonna(when she had black hair, circa "Like A Prayer" era, and Kate Winslet! :O She looks pretty! :)

  • Who was the redhead on the swing. I had the image of her branded in my mind for 20 plus years now. Can ANYONE identify her?

  • Who sings this in the commercial, anybody know?

  • Oh hello, Maxfield Parish.

  • Now I know why this song would always pop into my head when ever I was swinging when I was little.. It's amazing, I still remember the feeling of it all.

  • wow...i'm thinkin fragle rock, my atari system, the A-team and general hospital (when robert scorpio & anna got married) lol...ahhh the memories.

  • When I see this commercial I think of some place that's out of this world.. perhaps, dreams are made of thee...

  • this song rules all songs.

  • Its a shame they don't make commercial like "this" anymore.

  • I loved the way the guy with the white turtleneck takes a bite, then looks up toward the heavens (while standing in the sky of course). I ate so many of these as a kid, I made myself sick! I wish they would bring them back! of course, at my age, i can no longer enjoy candy bars and get away with it ;)

  • Faith No More did this song!

  • They really REALLY don't make them like this anymore. This song is like Choco-Porn, and makes people wish Nestle produced cocaine. Though that alpine white chocolate was pretty damn close.

Can't you just picture Mickey Rourke and Carret Otis winding down long twisty roads on a motorcycle on their way to purchase Nestle?

  • This is almost too pretty to be just a jingle...

  • It's not just a jingle, I believe it is a spoof of a very similar sounding pop song of the time but I don't know the name of it. If anyone knows please post a comment.

  • If I'm not mistaken, it's an original written for Nestle by Faith No More. There's footage somewhere in youtube of them performing it live.

  • They don't make em like this anymore!!

  • HOLY SMOKES! I still vividly remember this commercial, so I'm surprised to see that it was from 1986. Then again, I loved Alpine White as a kid so I guess the commercial always stuck in my mind (I'm so mad they discontinued this chocolate!)

  • Wow, I had this video as a favorite for months and just found this one, with superior quality sound. I'm amazed.

I grew up knowing the Sophie B. Hawkins version... I don't remember seeing this one or the third version Nestle came out with, and I found this all here on youTube like everyone else... the song just popping into my head randomly one day.

Darn Nestle for taking this chocolate bar away. I must've had it once or twice as a child, but it wasn'r easy to find.

  • Maxfield Parrish FOREVER !!

  • Wow, you are so right on with that comment -- that's exactly the style, reminds me of the old jell-o ad:

"The king and queen might eat thereof,

    and noblemen besides."

I used to have that on my wall -- could put stills from the Nestle ad next to it! :)

  • Spelling out the company's name in a jingle was nothing new; this was primarily an updated version of the jingle Jimmy Nelson and his ventriloquist dummies sang in the '50s:

    DANNY O'DAY: "N-E-S-T-L-E-S..."

JIMMY: "Nestle's makes the very best..."

FARFEL THE DOG: "Chaw-clate!! (clicks jaw)"

  • wasn't this commercial from the 90s though, with the dogs?

  • Yes, actually it was with wolves.

  • @fromthesidelines

You are so right. I find it funny that Nestle would use that tag from what is essentialy a kids style puppet to put in their eighties contemporary ad aimed at adults.

  • faith no more are UNBELIEVABLE

  • I remember renting Dirty Dancing on Home Video when it first came out and this was one of the commercials that came on before the movie. Sweet times

  • The music reminds me of Heart's 1985 "These Dreams". It's here on YouTube.

    Great ad. So-so candy bar.

  • I had this in my head today, for some reason, so I decided to come on here and find it. God, I haven't seen/heard this in 20+ years. So hilariously over the top. And the guy at 0:07 looks like the guy from The Blow Monkeys.

  • I agree this is a romantic encounter, but I would hardly categorize it as pornography. They are fully clothed, and what's so bad about the imagery? They appear to be in some arctic paradise, in a dream, or who knows, maybe even heaven.

If this commercial is soft porn, then all the rock music from the 80's must be HARD CORE porn as nearly every single released that decade had to do with sexual intercourse.

  • @GeorgiaKev wtf r u talking about?

  • @gmodesike I was replying to echo1v's comments about this being a sex commercial.

  • @GeorgiaKev wow..then echo 1v is a real ignoramus :) > thanks for being cool

  • @GeorgiaKev

Soft porn? What a joke! If ANYONE sees this commercial as "soft porn", they CLEARLY have some sort of deranged sexual white chocolate fantasy that they're trying to project on others to cover up their own shame, lol.

  • How in the world do you arrive at such a conclusion? Talk about no accounting for taste!

  • Man I used to like this song as a kid. They use to play this a lot back then,. Good memories, saturday morning cartoons, Nintendo. Ah to be a kid in the 80's

  • I used to collect music from the commercials I liked. When video became available, I recorded some of them. I recorded this one.

This one appealed to me because of the Maxfield Parish like images.

  • FAITH NO MORE.......

  • YESSSSS!

  • white chocolate bar searchers- this was discontinued but hearsheys cookies and cream tastes rather similar. :)

  • i just learned the other day that "faith no more" does this song live in concert. it's on youtube..they do it very very well!

  • they played sweet dreams in the Festival de Viña del Mar, here, in Chile

  • Now I want to listen to Everybody wants to rule the World!

  • I was born in 1976..but after 1986 my life has never been the same since hearing this extremely catchy jingle...I wish I could rewind my life back to all the time that I hummed this harmony in my head, probably 100 different days in 1987, 73 different days in 88, 96 different days in 89 etc all the way right on up till this year..I was probably standing in line, or jogging, or at someones wedding or spending the night at a relatives house one of the times this song was on repeat in my brain!

  • Damn, now I feel like an old man when I'm only 26.

  • The best commercial ever.

  • Something led me to look this commercial up after first hearing it over 20 years ago...I was a radio announcer and kept hearing the audio version of it while I aired syndicated programs that Nestle sponsored such as "Solid Gold Saturday Night" with Dick Bartley, and Rick Dees' top 40 countdown. You are all correct: the music is haunting and just has a way of sticking with you. Truly a quirk of being an 80's child, yes.

  • For anyone who lived through the 80's you would recognize all of the inferences in this commercial. The music was to be reminiscent of "The Police" who were popular at the time. There was the scene with Rachel from "Blade Runner" (1982) and the ending scene was almost a replica of Maxfield Parrish's "Daybreak" re-popularized on cards and stationery. I know as I have the card.

  • Yeah, this was 1986. I was 9 then, and remember it fairly well.

  • This came out in 1986??? I didn't realize it came out that long ago.

  • Wow I have a good Memoria i was born in 1980

  • LOL... so was I, I remember this commercial pretty well. They showed it mostly on the east coast when I was 6 then only occasionally on the west when we went to Vegas later that year.. or it's popularity had just phased out by then.

  • This could of been a theme song for a Soap Opera series. It helps take away the pains in the head...

  • oh my, the girl with the hood is so beautiful

  • Wow! This commercial takes me back! I remember the second version of this commercial more than this one, but I like this one better! Thanks for the upload, tvrewind & thanks for the memories, Nestlé!

  • Sircamvialco, when I read your comment,Thats almost exactly what I was going to say. I was just a kid when I saw these commercials running and this song stuck in my head for years. I think this is one of the best advertising jingles of all time.

  • Anyone know what guy is singing the lead and the woman singing backup?

  • the woman didn't do too much now

  • Honestly, this song has also haunted me for years. I've heard several other songs since then that actually reminded me of this commercial because the melody and chords were similar. Yet I always wanted to see this one again. However, if reminds me of hearing it in the background while having a ton of homework to do, when I'd rather be watching TV with me family. Who wrote this gem?

  • OMG...this song and video has been sooooo stuck in my head ever since it came out when i was a kid. It also gave me flashbacks of watching Moonlighting! lol

  • yes!

  • Wow, the girl in (0:17) is so beautiful. I really love the video and I wish I could live in this Nestle Alpine white world.

  • no you don't! :)

  • Isn't she? I've never seen this commercial before or the other one, just the one with the woman walking through the snow and the arctic fox.

I don't like how the candy bar commercials are now... they are not memorable and meaningful like they used to be.

  • Nestle Alpine white world is frickin cold and i know you can't survive, i mean its snowing in there, if you can stand wearing a thick furry jacket for 365 days straight that is. Me, i wouldn't even live there

  • Uhhh...they must have gone in the North Pole

  • These are all Maxfield Parrish paintings...

    The first one is Ecstasy.

  • Holy cow! I never knew... many of the images are, in fact, based on Parrish paintings or Parrish-inspired!!

  • the parrish family sued nestle for not getting permission to use his paintings in this commercial..that's why this commercial just vanished and was never seen again.

  • Geez! I remember this commercial from when I was 7yrs old and I've never forgotten about the imagery or the melodic music. I'm so glad it on YouTube; I love it more than ever. What happened to great commercials like this?

  • Wow I thought I Was messed up for finding this but I guess you guys were also mezmerized by this song. I think it's a subliminal Government experiment.

  • I now know that I was only 4 when I heard this, but it always stuck in my head, I think the Sophie B. Hawkins version actually, but there's something a bit magical about it, like it's a product of a culture you want to be a part of but that doesn't exist on earth anymore.

  • Es posible. Me he planteado esta hipótesis un par de veces

  • To the person who asked if the lyric is N E S T L E S or Nestles, I'm not sure but I think that's part of the appeal of the song.

I still can't believe so many people actually remember this commercial...but I'm sure it came out in 1987, not 86.

  • I can't believe I actually found this. I remember when this came out and all these years later I still can't get that beautiful song out of my head.

  • me too!! i want to make this song into a long trance style song.

    can you help!?

this song has haunted me for years!!!

  • Please, cuando la compongas comparte para escucharla!

  • Absolutely love this commercial. Maxfield Parrish comes to life in a chocolate bar commercial!

  • I swear, I had the biggest crush on the girl at 0:16!

  • i want to learn audio software to make a trance version of this song - wouldn't that be so cool!? you know maybe a 5-6 minute song bringing parts of this song in and out, but based around this song all the way!

  • It reminds me of cartoons on saturday morning, Gi. Joes, Aliens, Watchmen, Jase and the Wheeled warriors, oh and fingering Amy Aliborne behind the tennis courts at day camp.

  • I can't stop watching and listening to this commercial and I HATE commercials with a passion! No wonder FNM covered it back then.

  • awesome awesome song here!!!!

if i knew audio software - i would make a trance beat to this and remix it all, oh it would be so nice.

    everything is perfect here

  • First time I've tasted white chocolate was from watching that commercial. Out of all the chocolates, alpine white is still my favorite, including that commercial.

  • They really need to bring that commercial back.

  • Sweet dreams you can't resist

    N-E-S-T-L-E-S

A dream as sweet as this

    N-E-S-T-L-E-S

Creamy white. Dreamy white (lady orgasms)

    Nestle makes the very best

    N-E-S-T-L-E-S

    Sweet dreams you can't resist

  • lol " lady orgasm" I just shit my pant

  • CHOOOOOO-

    CLAAAATE!!!

  • I loves that commercial, I keeps playing it over and over again. It's so beautiful to me,woooow.

  • why is he singing " N E S T L E S" ? or Nestlé yes?

  • good point

  • or N E S T L E "is"

  • I do believe singing N-E-S-T-L-E-apostrophe-S would have been a tad unwieldy.

  • what!!?

  • I keep waiting for Farfel the dog to show up saying "CHOOOOOO-CLAAAATE!"

  • no way

  • EVERYTHING was better in the 80's!

  • even technology? lol the 80's were awesome..i was a kid and then a very young teen one year in the 80's

  • even those really big cell phones that were as big as a suit case!! those were better than the ones out now by far!! lol

  • a commercial with some kind of magical power - it really is

  • this is the greatest commercial of all time.

  • OMG!!!!! I have been wanting to see and hear this commercial for SO MANY YEARS!!!!!!This is amazing. I love this commercial!!!! The music is haunting and I have been singing it in my head for over 20 years and here it is in front of me!!! THANK YOU!

  • me 2!!! same as you..you are probably 31 or so i bet!

  • Me too!! I searched for it before and couldn't find it. I actually had an awful audio file of it from years ago but was hoping to see the commercial again. The music IS haunting. AWESOME!!!

  • I agree the music is kinda haunting, but it reminds me of my first crush :)
