@TheRealFalconFoxx I'm a guitar player myself, and I still can't emulate Johnny. I can play flash 80's solos, but I still can't get near to his style. He plays the guitar like he fucking hates it. He even had to resort to wearing an arm brace - he was hitting the strings so hard his hands were bleeding! Listen to the muted hits (the quick and violent percussive guitar sounds) in creep, that's johnny all over - He hears these beautiful melodies and just wants to scrawl all over them.

One of my best friends is a Radiohead fan, but I dislike them with a passion for their melancoly, their whining self-pitying 'no-one iller than me' attitude of pontificating to their fans whilst living in abject luxury with millions of pounds in the bank.

However, I cannot take away from the level of musicianship - one of the best bands of the 90's and 00's.

@neil73 Good music is driven by emotion. Helplessness is a very prevalent emotion in todays society. But, I think a lot of the subtleties of music go right over your head. Why don't you go listen to some happy hardcore, and leave the philosophical music to people who have a brain.

@neil73 I don't think Radiohead are that bad when it comes to the 'abject luxury' part.. They do a lot of charity/fundraising and they released In Rainbows for free, pretty much (along with delivering free content Praha, Haiti live etc.,)And while their emo-helplessness-melancholy side of music can indeed be subjective (and I myself find a lot of their work to be dark and a bit melancholy as well) they've got a lot of brightness to them as well. Interesting to see your point of view.
