  • I'm 13 and I LOVE marine life!

I hope to some day become this<3

I would want nothing more but to become a marine bioligist when I grow older(:

By the way your pictures are sooooo cool!!!!

  • im going off to college next year and i want to become a marine biologist soooooooooo bad!!! but there's math involved??? what does math have to do with marine biology??? and is it basic math or complicated math??? r u mainly out in the field or in a lab???? plz reply! i need answers!! =)

  • @chriskhleo It all depends on what you study. For some the math is complicated and for others it's simpler, like using basic geometry. My work doesn't involve a lot of math, but it does involve some statistics. I'm in the field for about two months out of the year and the rest of the time I'm on the computer or in the lab.

  • Oh, seriously! This is SO inspirational, I'm 18 now, that means I have to decide studies in a few months, I always knew it was gonna be biology, but marine biology seem interesting!

  • @CathrineRJ I'm really glad you liked it! Marine biology is definitely worth checking out--it's an interesting and rewarding field.

  • when i get older i want to be a marine biologist (im 15) cause weve only explored like 3% of the worlds oceans. what else could be in there? 50 ft eels!? the possibilitys are endless!

  • @TheMysteryman334 You're right--there is soooo much that we haven't seen and don't even know exists!

  • @VTtoCA like the maryana trench! its over 2 miles deep. there could be caves, and those caves have air pockets and we could find new species of anything!

  • @TheMysteryman334 yeah i want to be a marine biologist too. There is so much more to discover. I am almost 15 haha

  • did you always want to study coral? or as a marine biologist can you specialize in a certain area? could i just study animals (i.e. whales, dolphins, fish etc)

  • @chelseebabey No, I didn't figure out that I wanted to study coral until I got into grad school. All marine biologists have to specialize to a certain extent, but many study multiple organismal groups, like sharks, fishes, and whales. So yes, you could study a variety of critters.

  • So as a Marine Biologist you study the behavior of the animals? such as how they react to certain things? how they behave to certain circumstances? or what exactly do you do as a Marine Biologist?

  • @Superguy554 Many marine biologists study animal behavior--both how they act "normally" and how they react to certain disturbances like you suggest. Behavior is just one of the many areas that we collectively study!

  • wow, being a Marine Biologist looks awesome! I have LOVED animals my whole life, but lately I have been getting more and more interested in underwater animals! I saw your other video too, it makes me want to be a Marine Biologist!

  • @123Redheadchick

Great! It's a lot of fun and I definitely recommend it.

  • wow really beatiful ...wish i was there too..:)

  • @kl3848 Glad you like it--it's quite an amazing place.
