@Hatetheflames We didn't get blown away by anybody. The Vietcong was virtually annihilated in 1968 during their failed Tet Offensive. Look at the kill ratios for Vietnam. We lost around 50K dead. We killed over 1.5 million Vietnamese soldiers. It was a conflict because we did not declare war on North Vietnam. Again, we lost the Vietnam conflict/war due to politics in the U.S., not on the battlefield. Any historian will tell you that. The U.S. had complete control of the battlefields.
@dimax997 That's a misconception. Early on in the U.S. involvement the M-16 was an untested weapon and yes the AK was superior given the conditions. The M-16 was quickly fixed and that was no longer an issue. Besides, a personal firearm does not mean out combat performance was destroyed. Again, look at the kill ratios. 50K U.S. dead for 1.5 million Vietnamese. That's a fucking phenomenal trade off. You also can't give up your M-16 for an AK on a full time basis as you have no supply of ammo

The numbers of active members are decieving. The US uses long - service professionals, while Russia uses short service conscripts. An American soldier may serve for 20+ years, whereas a Russian soldier will probably only serve one year. Thus the US has more experienced personnel.
BUT
Once a Russian soldier leaves the army, he or she transfers to the reserves, where they are elligeable to be called up again. This gives Russia a nearly bottomless reserve of trained soldiers to call upon.

@Hatetheflames We didn't get blown away by anybody. The Vietcong was virtually annihilated in 1968 during their failed Tet Offensive. Look at the kill ratios for Vietnam. We lost around 50K dead. We killed over 1.5 million Vietnamese soldiers. It was a conflict because we did not declare war on North Vietnam. Again, we lost the Vietnam conflict/war due to politics in the U.S., not on the battlefield. Any historian will tell you that. The U.S. had complete control of the battlefields.

@dimax997 That's a misconception. Early on in the U.S. involvement the M-16 was an untested weapon and yes the AK was superior given the conditions. The M-16 was quickly fixed and that was no longer an issue. Besides, a personal firearm does not mean out combat performance was destroyed. Again, look at the kill ratios. 50K U.S. dead for 1.5 million Vietnamese. That's a fucking phenomenal trade off. You also can't give up your M-16 for an AK on a full time basis as you have no supply of ammo

Plus we have a larger population so if need be we can draft more troops into service than you. About the Nukes, you only need a handful to destroy your enemy. The numbers of active members are decieving. The US uses long - service professionals, while Russia uses short service conscripts. An American soldier may serve for 20+ years, whereas a Russian soldier will probably only serve one year. Thus the US has more experienced personnel.
BUT
Once a Russian soldier leaves the army, he or she transfers to the reserves, where they are elligeable to be called up again. This gives Russia a nearly bottomless reserve of trained soldiers to call upon.

Russia has made great accomplishments, so has the U.S. If you just learn the history of America from hollywood, and all those other bullshit movies then your learning absolutely nothing, i dont even like the bullshit they put in there and the same thing about people who think Russia is still the same status it was as the Cold War.

The U.S. the most powerful tank in the world, best air to air combat fighter (F22), and joint strike fighter (F-35), bomber (B2), strongest navy, and near the best infantry in the world.
Russia isn't the Soviet Union any more. They have been outpaced by the U.S. in terms of weapon advancement. They are still a force to be reckoned with, but not against the U.S.
