Actually, the Mayans exist today as the indigenous peoples of Central America. Many of them have mixed heritages with Mexican, Spanish, Caribbean, and African ancestry. I once met a guy who was a quarter Mayan, a quarter Korean, a quarter Mexican, and a quarter African.

The economy was booming during Clinton's entire presidency. Was the economy beginning to slow down when Bush was elected? Yes. Was the tech bubble burst going to happen whoever was president? Yes.
