There's never been any reason to use a reverb, other than its gimmick value. Some ops labour under the delusion that they make the signal more readable, which is nonsense, they make it less legible. If you want better legibility in marginal conditions, a compressor's what you need. Just recebntly, some Italian hams have been heard using them on 40 metres. They shall die, and their bodies be fed to the pigs.

Ok, is supposed to make the voice more audible at low signal or something? Otherwise it's just pointless and annoying.
