It was litteraly a race of gears instead of speed, the evo was switching into 6th by the time m3 had just gotten into 4th...

the older m3 e46 is just slightly slower than the evo, and they pair up almost evenly. this evo wouldnt have to be heavily modded to beat this m3. Although it did not, i love evo's but i would much rather live the rest of my live with a e92 m3.

Whats with all the comments? Evo's are rally cars, they dominated in WRC. It's built for acceleration not top end. Evo faster off the mark, M3 higher top speed that's just how it goes. Try driving through a forest at 90mph in an M3.

Stick an M3 on a rally stage and the evo is better. Cruise to the south of france then do some laps of lemans and the BMW is.

The BMW is a car you enjoy for the drive and the way it feels. The evo is a car you enjoy more by bragging what it can beat than the actual car itself.

My M3 cost me $180k ( I live in Australia), and here an Evo costs between $60-$70k ( funny considering its more than an m3 costs you there)... thats a noticable difference. I am the previous owner of a 07 335i, and current owner of 06 Evo IX I trader for.

My carwas exactly what you have listed, Jb3, Intake, DP's, and also Spearco Intercooler, Borla Exhaust with CUSTOM Piping. I barely hit 380 with those running unsafely for 93pump.

With my DD Evo IX, sure its not the most comfortable right, but thats why you get coilovers. I was pushing over 420 with the few bolt ons and a tune.

I like raw power, so for me, my trade was deffinetly worth it.

Yeh you could ( I know because Ive done it) but your going to start breaking gearboxes and diffs and internals if you dont spend money on doing the rest... I have an evo i race at superlaps every year ( Australia) it runs on E85 and has about $50k worth of work done to it.... its only doing about 290awkw reliably.... but I can run a 1:06 at wakefield ( and pros can run a 1:05 in it) about the same as a stock 911 GT2... it is no match for the G-power in a straightline.

We all know if you mod an evo enough it will beat a stock m3 in a straight line, and that an Evo is an epic cheap track weapon that can be made into the ultimate track day destroyer.

Bmw M3 is a masterpiece though, and if you put a G-tech supercharger kit on it, it will destroy anything.
