It's to reset the juggle counter. In Third Strike you're only allowed a 6 hit air-juggle, but if you use a super it resets the juggle limit.

@mystm that might explain all the matches where a dudley would (at the time i assumed) 'waste' a corkscrew cross for minimal dammage. it always seemed pointless and flashy to me but seeing how well executed combos tend to do more damage than a single super, along with your comment, makes me think otherwise now.

I searched everywhere on the internet for a band called Fish Tone and nobody has ever heard of them before (even Wikepedia). It's like they don't exist. Is this song from another game? Mabey I could find it in Galbadia Hotel. Anyway; the "All Clear" part was pointless (a stun gauge full without being hit in a match. LOL!).
