I WENT THRU A GUT-WRENCHING BREAK UP WHEN THIS SONG HIT THE TOP OF THE CHARTS. COULDNT LISTEN TO IT FOR A LONG TIME. WHY ARENT THESE GUYS IN THE ROCKNROLL HALL OF FAME ??
i always loved the line it ain't a sign of weakness to give yourself away because the strong give up and move on while the weak, the weak give up and stay
1:43 ! Do you believe...in Hot cars , leather bars and Movie stars...IS THAT WHATS REAL? Paying dues....Earth shoes , Chicago Blues...is that how you feel?
(an all time favorite phrasing of mine...still chill and inspires me)
An all time cut. Somehow, despite being a Hall and Oates fan since Sara Smile, I never heard this until I saw them in concert at the Chicago Theater in July.
A classic! Thanks so much for the upload. I'm an African American here to say these 'white boys' produced some of the greatest soul music of all time!
I never heard this one and i was born in 1970 but i heard sara smile, this is wonderful, damn that white boy can sing, he's wow, he gives you that donny hathaway this is nice, sad kinda i'm saving this and getting the greatest hits. darryl is just bad to the bone.
This song was such a big part of my life in the laste 70's. The funky soulful vibe and the message is so beautiful. I'm so happy to have it here on You tube.
@TheTyrone313 I SAY NOW AND i HAVE ALWAYS SAID, LET'S LEAVE COLOUR OUT OF IT BROTHER, I AM A BRITISH AMERICAN. WE ARE ALL CHILDREN OF GODTHE KEY WORD HERE IS SOUL AND I AGREE WITH YOU . This song is one of my favorites because of the lyrics, because of the rythm, because it's sexy. I feel I can do what I wanna do.
