What most people dont understand is that AI is about singing in a pop style. If you watch the beginning of every season, you see thousands of people who sing well, but dont fit the look that goes with being what AI considers to be the top. so yea, thats most of the reason why she did not do as well as some who sing worse than her

It seems inconceivable that a young girl of this amazing vocal prowess and performance caliber should lose to lesser lights on AI. It's obvious that the show is rigged and is set up as a promo for the ready-made albums of singer-songwriter types no matter how outdated and mediocre they are. Their subsequent so-so rushed albums are surefire evidence of this.

What an awesome voice! What I can't comprehend is the vast difference between this and (sorry) lame performance of "Through The Fire". It just doesn't seem possible that this gal who performed this operatic masterpiece could miss those notes. She's obviously way too well trained and talented which begs the questions: Is she a ringer? Was this competition 'rigged'? Was she SUPPOSED to lose?? Did she 'throw the fight'??? I don't see any other explanation!

What I find so funny is how everyone was so wowed by her scream in "Think" (including me when I heard it), but after watching this, now I know that the scream was as easy for her as breathing air. No wonder when Ryan asked her if she was nervous about the scream she replied that that was the part she was least worried about. She knew she was just giving us a taste of what she was capable of.

Tbh, I cringed througout this performance. Her top notes were just shouting and she didn't even get to the top where those scales are supposed to go.

A level of sophistication only in trained opera singers?! Let's not get ahead of ourselves. She sang it with quite a 'popular' voice whereas it is supposed to be sung effortlessly in a light operatic voice. It was a bit of a, dare I say, american performance rather than the light English performance that gilbertandsullivan shows deserve and need!

I must have watched Linda Ronstadt perform this song dozens of times in the movie version of "Pirates of Penzance" (why oh why won't they release it on DVD???), and Siobhan is almost as good as Linda. And that is very high praise indeed. Tears are streaming down my cheeks, I love this young singer so much.....I do hope she wins "Idol."

Ok, I still can't get over this performance. If I understand correctly, she was only 16 when she sang this? That's INSANE!!! Just impossible that a 16 yo could sing like that, and yet ... there she is doing it.

She needs to come out on AI and do something really glamorous and sophistocated and really show off this voice, throw down the gauntlet so to speak. This competition should be all hers. But ... the best singer never wins, so I'm ready to be disapoointed again.

I almost feel proud of her LoL, and I've never met her or anything of the kind, but she reminds me that there truly are exceptionally gifted musicians in the world still. She's got the sort of talent that was seen in young stars decades ago and marketed like crazy, but these days you just don't see this sort of thing happening, like culture has gone the way of the dinosaur.

My opinion is that Siobhan is too good for A.I. and the whole pop-music thing! I'm not sure if she's thought of attending Juilliard, but I think that if she did, and with the proper teaching and coaching, she'd EASILY become a world-renowed soprano! Yes, it's the Top 24 again this year; not the Top 36. I guess Idol's producers felt last year's format, where folks voted for three singers from each group of 12, with three wild cards, just didn't work out.
