this may seem like a stupid question, but have you ever felt frustrated and wished that your fingers were longer? or do you feel this has never been a limitation?

Thanks kickkkflip, there is always a limitation by stretching the hands. I honestly have never had this problem, aside from the fact that I, with much of my energy, I concentrate more on the dynamics and tones color, I use the stretching only when I am convinced that gives me a perfect harmony, and fits the rest I'm playing. However, if you have some problem , with the length of your fingers then you can make " Piano technique exercises"or better "Stretching technique exercises.

In my opinion it is not easy to explain with few words a musical technique.Unfortunately, in this case I can only say to you little,but in most simple way.

1) About how to memorize chords and how to improvise.The music is like a language. When you learn a new language ( for not to create confusion during a conversation) you memorize words, phrases ect. In music,you memorize chords,scales,timing, ect.

2).With the new language you've learned, you can create phrases, speeches, poems, ect. Here, this is the same thing with the music, but here is called: improvise, compose.
