Ever since the rise of MP3 mixing the once respected skill of being a DJ has been flushed down the shitter! you set set cue points and the software matches the BPM's for you and all you have to do is push or "touch" a button and Bam! the next track is blending in at just the right time and of course the perfect BPM. I use software too but every now and then I'll mix with pure vinyl and no computer magic and the crowd goes nuts when they see what REAL DJing is!

@thehouserocker silly me, thinking that DJ'ing was about the mix itself not the BPM-matching. If it's all about BPM sync then there is options where you don't eaven have to have tracks just get two metronomes! Go play with that and let people do their thing!

@thehouserocker Syncing leaves you open to do other stuff other than beatmatching... Theres a lot more to DJing than just beatmatching, and syncing allows you to focus on them. It also allows you to create quick seamless loops, that stay in time. I think that anybody who calls themselves a DJ should be able to beatmatch, but if someone wants to use a sync button, that allows them to pull something off that otherwise they wouldn't have time to do, wheres the problem?

@thehouserocker And also, in my experience, 'the crowd' don't usually care unless it's a big name. If it's in a club or a rave, picking the right tracks is what will send the crowd off. Not mixing with vinyl.
