i consider myself a follower of Christ but i'm not a JW. i don't agree with all the beliefs of the JWs but i do know that in no way, shape, or form Christmas is a "Christian" holiday. In my opinion, Christians shouldn't need a holiday or a sabbath to be holy, we should be holy everyday but i do believe in honoring the sabbath. Armedwithtruth, I think your video is the best formed justification for not celebrating Christmas that I've seen on Youtube. Others choose not to because of its pagan heritage which to them seems offensive. They don't seem to realize the irony. Personally, I think the season is a time for generosity and togetherness, but to each his own right? Either way I think we can both take a little wisdom in knowing that our thoughts are with those who have been left behind. I wish you a safe season:)

Thanks! This is just one of the many deceptions Satan has led the world into. Sunday worship is another. The 7th day Sabbath was instituted by God. Man can never change it. God blessed it, sanctified it, hallowed it, Christ came to his own but they knew him not. The Jews were to be the holy priests to carry Christ's message to the world but since they rejected it, he gave it to the Gentiles. Continue searching for truth, read God's word for yourself. I am a Free Presbyterian and we don't celebrate this pagan, godless holiday either. There aren't many Christians who wont, unfortunately, but there are some.

Christmas IS a retail holiday.Christ was never "in" Christmas. 12/25 was a pagan holiday until early religious leaders/Roman officials changed it to "honor" Christ. Nowhere in the 4 Gospels does tell Christ followers to celebrate the birth of Christ/Christmas - Christ followers should focus on what Christ DIED for, spreading His word and reaching out to others -all year long! NOT fighting over parking spaces at the malls during the retail holiday season, all "in the name of Christ."

I am not JW but Anglican, and I must say in these past few holiday seasons, esp this one and last, that I have learned many lesson, been confronted by many of the truths of celebrating. It really has nothing, nothing at all, to do with our Lord. There really is no excuse. If we observe anything at all, it should be the life and teachings of Christ, all year at not just at holidays! Unfortunately it is ingrained in our collective experience, God help us all.

Excellent video. It's sad to see what can happen to people during the holiday season. I live in NY and the stress level is palpable. A few weeks ago a few people were killed during a sale in a Long Island Walmart. They were trampled to death while trying to get to merchandise that was on sale that particular day. Merry Christmas.

I was just dumped by my girlfriend of 7 months, whom I love dearly, and whom I had hoped to marry, because I refused to join her and her family on December 25th. She argued that there is nothing "religious" about getting together and exchanging gifts and eating together. I disagree completely!

I am saddened by this and I miss her terribly. For the seven months we dated, I have prayed daily for God to call her to His truth.

Perhaps one day He will. Regardless, I still pray for her daily.

wotsganninon - christening is a Catholic ritual I believe, and you're right, babies and children are not capable of making such a thing their own personal decision. The Bible does however tell parents this at Proverbs 22: 6 "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Thank you for your comment yuanyuanyin. The soldiers may or may not consider themselves Christian, I don't know. They may be very sincere, but mislead by clergy. Each however is responsible for their own actions. If everyone however in the world obeyed Jesus' words at Matt. 5: 21 about not killing, we would not have wars.  Currently that isn't reality, but to true Christians it is - who will die for their faith, not kill for it.
