so basicly 9/11 happens every 3 years due to bad driving. Why hasn't the US gone to war against red light runners and spent 4 trillion dollars stopping them?
@Xaiano What are you going to do about? Set up retractable barriers that go up when the light is red? So long as there are red lights, people are going to run them. All we can do is assign a large penalty to it.
@Xaiano Those are good in small intersections but if you replaced a traffic light with a roundabout in a large intersection, such as the crossing of two five-lane highways, traffic would get slowed down so bad that most people would avoid it and therefore crashes would just occur elsewhere.

@willghass or create roundabouts (traffic circles) as these have been proven to reduce fatal accidents by as much as 90%
