i was here during this last ride celebration.... I miss the Pavilion...but it seems that the area is undergoing a renaissance...let's hope it is for the best
Yeah, it's a crying shame that Freestyle Music Park went down hill like it did. I missed riding The Time Machine this past summer...a.k.a. the Led Zeppelin. For those of us that are Myrtle Beach junkies like i am, we've got that Huge Ferris Wheel to look forwards to on Ocean Blvd. next summer!! I hear it's going to be atleast 175 feet tall! With that being built-up on Ocean Blvd. near the Sling Shot, they should bring back some rides & put where the Pavilion once stood.
Thank you so much for uploading this vid lol after all these years i STILL Rememeber the clicking notches on the way up the hill lol brought back so many memories, people dont understand this isnt all about being a money business, this is a part of Myrtle Beach History i'm 23 now and i've been there many times since i was born, greatest memories as a child. This is historical, why dont they just close down Yellowstone national park and build condos there? pretter sure not much cash in tourism
so is it easy to get pussy down at myrlte beach or what?? im moving down there this summer and iv heard some say that the wemon/girls are FINE as hell and are pretty easy.and then iv heard others say that all the girls/wemon are stuck up as hell...wich is suprising..i figured that most people who live at myrtle beach would be pretty laid back and would love to party. i would also imagine that the party scene is nice??? aswell as the bud/rolls/powder??
Family Kingdom is ok but it's no where as great as this pavilion was. But still it's an old school sea side park and I'll go there next weekend when I go down to Myrtle Beach. HardRock/FreeStyle Park has been a flop.
It's a shame they closed the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. From what I heard, the park was profitable, but just not making enough money to satisfy the owner. Such a shame. I wonder what happened to the carousel and the roller coasters?
They ended up taking the rides apart and selling them to other amsument parks. I think the carousel is suppost to be in the nostalgia park like a few of the others, though im not sure they are the actual rides. I grew up in the Pavilion lol. It was a great place and yes, the owers were very money hungry, but it was having problems with money for a while before it closed.
Oh yeah, they definitely took it down. The whole Pavilion is _gone_. Some of the smaller rides were relocated to Broadway at the Beach (owned by the same company as The Pavilion), but if this was relocated rather than just being destroyed, it was sold outside of the state. I don't think it was.

I think Freestyle is closed down for now and it didn't even open last year.
Stupid Burrough's & Chapin should have never closed the Pavilion. I bet it would have still been successful & do well today.

@AtariRockz
I'll say. FreeStyle defaulted on its payments at the start of this month, is not going to open this year, and, IMHO, will go either Chapter 7 or 11.

The carousel is indeed in the "Pavilion Nostalgia Park" at Broadway at the Beach.
tednolan 2 years ago
The carousel was moved to Broadway at the Beach where they have some other children's rides. I don't know what happened to the roller coasters though
peterwulfy 2 years ago
The Hurricane was torn down, but the cars that were used for the Hurricane are now on another roller coaster.
