  • I bought MMF2 last night, and am presently waiting for it to arrive. I'm mentally preparing by watching tutorials, and I found your videos entertaining and inspiring. Thanks for taking the time to put this stuff up!

  • I played facade.

    It was amazing :)

  • @SWEGTA Yeah, it was very original.

  • @3kliksphilip Never realised a game could be that fun, but it's full of glitches.

One time the girl asked about her decorating, I said "I think it looks nice" and Tripp just kicked me out and said "Maybe it's time for you to leave", antother glitch is when you say the word "Melon". They will somehow hate you.

I tried editing files to change paintings and stuff like that, it was really easy and fun.

  • @SWEGTA Yeah, me too. I find it more frustrating to play it now, it seems a bit unresponsive (and the 1.8 Ghz requirement is absurd).

  • @3kliksphilip Is it laggy for you?

My friend has a pretty good gaming computer while I have a laptop (I get about 60 - 120 fps in source games).

I also feel like they don't really talk to you.

It's like when someone talks to you and just expects you to say yes or no and they just keep on talking, without a single thought of letting you respond before taking the subject further.

The game itself is really fun, but I feel so trapped and the bots really don't care about the players point of view.

  • @SWEGTA It's kind of like a more ambitious version of those old Kings Quest games. It's trying to pick out key words that you say, and will respond in a pre-programmed way. I don't see this changing any time soon unfortunately.

Still, it's a good reason to go outside and talk to real people!

  • @3kliksphilip Haha of course.

I would get really suprised if I just said Melon and someone would attack me.

  • you are like a genius in the making...

  • Nice! This game is better then brink :D

  • LARGE GAMES CAN BE FUNNY LOOK AT PORTAL 2 *RAGEQUITS*

  • @thomasl4d Valve are good at doing things like that. Most games don't seem to bother. I think that small games can be more niche and comedic than large games that try to appeal to a generic audience, usually by adding big guns, macho men in armour and lots of explosions. Or something like that. Interestingly, the portal series originally came from an Indy developer!

  • @3kliksphilip WOW indy? thats realy odd indy? source? *head exploads*

  • @thomasl4d Look up the game 'Narbacular Drop'

  • is the game also on a website? so you could play it in your browser

  • @roentjeu16 I keep meaning to getting around to that.

  • Why did you watch "Cow vs Train" in the middle of the video?

  • @JulioGeeMan Something I was sent, I guess

  • what's the song at 3:08 ?

  • @Rusty511 One I never finished

  • @3kliksphilip oh :( can you pm me the sound clip anyways? Luv it ^^

  • @Rusty511 Sent :)

  • @3kliksphilip legend!

  • hey, but HOW DID YOU PUT MORE THAN 500 OBJECTS, WHEN I PUT MORE THAN 500 OBJECTS, 501+ DISAPPEARS, AND CANNOT BE CRATED!

    ANSWER ME PLZPLZPLZPLZ

  • @Phamtom020 You can change this in the level's properties, by clicking on the level in the Workspace Toolbar, then by going to the second tab in the properties for that level and by changing the '500' to '20,000'. Not sure why you've got so many active objects, though.

  • @3kliksphilip ohohohohohoh tyyyyyyyyyyyytytytytytytytytytytyty

i am making a game about miners, like motherload (play it if you havent, is really good) and you need to pass through every piece of dirt, so there are many active squares, as many as the mine has, and i need to put also the minerals... a lot of stuff ^^

  • 7:12 YOur balls almost exploded... it bored you, and a lot too ._.

  • It's very interesting to see you make this! :D

  • make more tutorials

  • I love the game!! :D

  • @FlashUser95 Thanks!

  • @3kliksphilip ya, me too, but is short ^^.

I make games too, they are on PHAMTOM.ES.TL

is in spanish ^^ but what is happy for you is that i used your tutorial to start, but now, i am all a pro at the program ^^ THANKS!

  • ya you should make some how to videos with MMF2

  • yeah,i torally liked it

    especially the humor:D

  • @MsLolmaster123 Thanks :)

  • Are you by any chance studying a game design course in Uni? If so, I would like to ask was it worth it and what do you recommend I do to pursue a career in this field?

I am currently in highschool working with Maya, UDK and hammer.

  • @Dskater101 No, I'm doing accounting and finance. I think that perhaps I should have done something fun instead.

  • Passed the Game!

It was a good game :) good job

  • boiring game .. but nice try :)

  • @ARalleProduction Care to explain what you liked and didn't like in more detail, so I can learn from it and improve future games? Thanks.

  • on the site to this game, there is an ad disguised as a download button. beware.

  • love how you reply to people often, not many youtubers do that :)

  • your a fucking retard gg

  • @Zolga00 Pleased you thought the game was good :)

  • You're really weird... but REALLY AWESOME!!!! ! ! !!!

  • can we find this game anywhere on internet?

  • @3kliksphilip where? please i m curious!

  • @adnanahmed316 Where would you normally look if you wanted more information about a video on youtube?

  • @3kliksphilip Oh my bad... I m sorry... i m out of my mind these days! but nice work man... keep it work!

  • @adnanahmed316 Keep it work?!??!! What's that supposed to mean? :P

Never mind, I know what you're trying to say, thanks for the encouragement, perhaps you should start making games. Think up something as simple as a hoover and you could make an original game :P

  • @3kliksphilip haha like i said i m pissed off these days! I meant... Keep it up! well sure i ll try... i m learning Java these days.

  • @adnanahmed316 Yeah, I'm quite pissed at the moment. I blame the vodka. But hey, good luck with the java learning. I don't know a thing about coding, I'm still learning the basics of game design. But I enjoy it! Need to make another video like this some time, it's been over a year... which is quite scary.

  • @3kliksphilip Well im subscribed to your account so ill be waiting GOOD LUCK! and drink less... its not good for health and brain.

  • @adnanahmed316 No, but it's what keeps me going throughout the lonely University years.

  • yeah i agree with u that people dont realize the hard work of a programmer!

  • Mate I found this very interesting and helpful because yesterday I downloaded the demo of this thank you for the source sdk tutorial I found them so helpful thank you

  • your asking me if i found this interesting...? i've already watched these 10 times eeach, going on 11!!!!

  • @SuperGameCreator Thanks, I appreciate that.... which sort of game are you trying to make?

  • @3kliksphilip well, i make adventure games like this. one im working on now is inspired by this!

  • Mate I played NFL and armed and dangerous plus is mf2 free

  • @harrygomm I don't know what those games have to do with MMF2, but no, it isn't free. Get Construct by Scirra if you want one for free, it's a very good program but I can't help you with it since I don't use it.

  • how much is the program?

  • @beatear You can use scirra construct for free, it's very similar. MMF2 is £80, TGF2 (cut down version) is £40.

  • Oh... I just noiced your name... arn't you the person who did the hammer timelapse thing??? ( . Y . )

  • @GmodGuy757 Yes

  • @3kliksphilip Please help, I made a TF2 map but when I try to test it, I spawn and all but the whole screen is black and any, I meant any, TF2 props I have on the map are all ERROR's... :'(

  • that game is realy fun to play

  • please do make tutorials on how to make a game it would be awesome

  • @tripleh04 Problem with making a tutorial on this is that every game is completely different, and even if there are two similar games, they're probably made in totally different ways. It's pretty much impossible to make tutorials on how to make a game unless I tell people how to do it MY way, which may conflict with how other people make games / might not be the best way, but it's the way I feel most comfortable with. But yeah, if people want me to make tutorials I'll try.

  • Yes I found the source on click site! Got it running on AEU! Took me right back!! Ha ha ha..

And I agree, I Jump'd straight into (Bat Sweeper)code! and Got Covered in Bat droppings!! lol

But Seriously - Thanks For Being So Open With Your Codes etc..It Nice To See Some1 Willing To Help Others, Instead of Just Showing What They can Do!! - You Show How They Can Do It!

    Many Many Thanks!

Ps Trying To Do A Rpg/Action Game. With Paths/Nodes. Can't Find help anywhere!! - Any Ideas! Or Code!

    Thanks

  • @coxyofnewp Pathfinding is VERY hard to do in MMF2, if you look up tommyttk you'll find a tutorial on it. Though I still can't do it myself and always get him to add the pathfinding into my games (None have been released that include it yet though)

  • @3kliksphilip Just A Quick'y!!

    Looked Everywhere For Tommyttk tutorial!

    No Joy!!

But Did Notice allot of Japan Sites with his Music!!

(Those Japs , Know Good Music When They Hear It !!)

    ---------------------------

If You Can Find The Link? Please Drop Me A Line!!

    Many Thanks In Advance!!

Ps - Just Try'd Spellinx - Very Very Nice!! And Have A Good Laugh Watching The Vids For It.. (Tell Tom, Did A Great Job With The Water)

  • @coxyofnewp I've PMed you with a link

  • You are a NUT!! But A Wicked Nut!!

    My type of NUT!

As for the Game - Love the fact you can bang out a game like this in 20hours!!

I Only just got hold of MMF2 a week or so ago! And learnt more watching you vids than any other TUT or Vid !!

So Please KEEP EM COMING !!

I Used to do a bit of game making many years ago with AMOS! On my LOVED Amiga!! Old School Days!!! lol..

But Trying to Re-Find My Game Making Days Again!! - So All the Help I can Get Is Well Appreciated.. So MOre More More Vids!!

  • @coxyofnewp Did you know that AMOS is written by the same people as the ones who made MMF2? And thanks for the support, I find the best way to learn how to make games is to open up other peoples' games and see how they were made.

  • You sir are great at that, In terms of game making, I'm a newb who uses RPG maker. But that doesn't matter because I like RPGs!

  • This was a rly cool game! Did you win the competition?

  • @MrRkost Came top for gameplay, but lost to a tamagotchi game that had professional looking graphics. But no gameplay. :P

  • @3kliksphilip Haha too bad :)

  • I watched these vids and I even Downloaded the game :D good work!

  • What program did you use to make the songs?

  • @Bfsuperking FL Studio

  • I loved this series, but what I'd REALLY love you for would be either a timelapse of a CSS map, or a speedmap in real time.

  • @sk8r2000 Watch 'Map design, from start to finish'

  • @3kliksphilip

I've seen that before, and awesome as it is I mean actually doing what you did here but with Source SDK; like, actually recording hammer and speeding it up.

  • @sk8r2000 It sounds great in theory, but in the past when I've tried, it looks boring, confusing and you can't really tell what I'm doing until the very end any way. Heck, I'd say that this video is the same, but I'm able to add commentary to this one more easily.

I might get around to a map start-to-finish video some time, though.

  • i love games with creative gameplay. its true that big companies dont do that often, but valve did that with portal. another game i liked is tag: the power of paint. check it out

  • How much did Multimedia Fusion cost?

  • @IP505 I bought it half and half with my friend, split the £80 cost

  • How do you make him fly with his vacuum thing (programming)?

  • @zakoramaproductions You need to use some custom movement that's made from scratch for the character, then depending on the direction the vacuum's pointing when you press fire, it does different things to him. Give me your email and I'll PM you the game's code. In fact, I'll probably get a section up on my website dedicated to examples. I think I'll do that tonight.

  • great elipse xD

  • I played your game, wonderful.

  • Can you help trought msn because i want to make a good game and i think im right here. ill send you a message of my msn

  • organise ur desktop

  • @deMoSHeEpsa I find I'm more constructive with a messy desktop

  • I use Scirra Construct... because im cheap lol

  • please tell me what music program u use. not audiacuty but the one where u MAKES song/sounds

  • @fuelofmilo I use audacity to record voices and sound effects. FL Studio 8 for songs.

  • man i <3 it when people make vids like this and tanks for all the hammer tuts really helped me out :)

  • o

    ok

  • what is the program?

  • @kilariviq Do people in your country not have access to the video's description or something?

  • he uses Multimedia Fusion 2 try and read first

  • you are right people are using hours to make it and customers are just rating 1-3 and say why the hell make this shitty game.

  • @oOosupernicoOo I blame it on all of those games that simply imitate popular ones before it. Think of all those levels where you place towers to destroy enemies as they run down a path. Or zombie survival games where you hold them off night after night, upgrading your weapons at the end of every round. It's not the setting- it's the balance, the short and long term goals, and making it fun to play.

  • 4:43 FA-KADE not FA-SADE!

  • @PirateNaziZombie Not according to online dictionaries. Or my MUM

  • Well, what do you do in the game? Maybe it's a different word.

  • @PirateNaziZombie It's the name of the game.

  • btw was .kkrieger made in mmf2 if it is... WOW

  • @canavaro100 No, it wasn't

  • why was u watching cow vs train in youtube? :P

  • you sure know how to use MMF2.

  • 1:05 - 1:10 proffesional youre game are professional

  • i played this game the idia is nice but the main charcher look's pretty weird

  • So's the Granny's voice. And the talking bat.

  • wow you have SO many icons on your desktop. get organized. lol

  • The messier my desktop, the better the stuff that I make.

  • nice:P

  • can u do turorials how to use that program and how to get it or what name it got ?:P

  • what du u use to record at your screen

  • duh it says in the corner... hypercam

  • Funucational! Do do tuts please!

  • how did u make the gun and his arm pivoting around his arm by follow the target and u be able to shoot in that direction

  • Uhh... just make an arm, always position it on the body, always make it look at crosshair

  • what do u use to make the crosshair thanks for answering by the way

  • An active object

  • Please make tutorials ASAP :D! I have MMF2 aswell, but no idea how to use it!

  • Okay, I'll try to get around to it soon

  • i have been trying with TGB, but although the engine is strong, i just run into alot of problems, and the community has died down, so i saw your videos and decided to try MMF2, ends up a very nice solid program to help get beginners on their feet, id love to see you do some tutorials!

  • I found this fun to watch. I wouldn't mind watching more if you made them. Tutorials would be very nice for people who are just starting to use that program.

  • Very interesting. Would be sweet if you would do some tutorials.

  • I did find it interesting and Humorous. :P

    5/5

  • mdk was fun to play and it was fun too XD

  • can iadd u on steam ur awesome

  • that was MUCH more of you i wanted to see at 7:21. cool game tho xD

  • Dude, i reckon you should of came first! I absolutly love this game ^__^

For 15mb, its hell worth it :D

  • really cool series

  • The jumping is pretty hard in the second stage. I couldn't get further so I decided to quit xD

  • hey phil, how do you make a timer so that when you die and go to the next frame, it tells you how long you lasted?

  • There are hundreds of different ways. I use an array to remember the number, but you could use a global value

  • thank you very much

  • why learn flash, and actionscrpit2/3 ?

You can make amazing games with quick great vector graphics. And much more. but then again it would take a lot of time and possibly money.

  • Great work. Keep it up.

  • what programs are u using to make this game?

  • i really would like to see you take a shot at a css surf map ^^

  • i would absolutely love to see some tutorials on multimedia fusion 2

  • You are an amazing SDK mapper, you need to work for Valve :)

Maybe you can make a decent l4d2 map :P

  • well i those games ,i mean if u dont create cs:s i wont play it :D

  • I still have armed and dangerous, funny game

  • just played the game, love the music and how the game works. I also like the intro haha, i didnt get too far tho

  • ur aweosome

  • ya some vids of multimedia fusion would be sweet

  • Learn flash!

  • Why?

  • I actually really enjoyed watching these, it's really interesting to see how a game is made, as well as just playing it. It also makes me want to make my own game, even if I do have no idea how to use the program :P.

  • Very nice video and I love the game :)

Tutorials for MMF2 would be pretty cool.

Also I noticed some (1 major) glitch that would be great if you could update:

The glitch is that if you replay a level (such as the first level) and actually complete it then the levels you have already beaten disapear.

  • Yeah tut would be great :O I liked watching this oddly enough...

  • cant beat the boss when the boss drops acid on meh :(

  • Lol, actually, honestly from one game-maker to another, you did an excellent job mate. I use games factory (Multimedia Fusion) and i know how advanced your games are. :) Great job!

    I'd love some tutorials mate.

    10/10! :D

  • Pelvic thrust at the end :P

  • nice, these 3 episodes are very inspirational. thnx and good work

  • 7:18 :D

  • AHAHAHAH can you post the picture of you lol

  • AWESOME :) i love it :P

    stupid voices :D

  • Lol Monty python FTW!

  • Just finished the game now. The level design was pretty slow paced but it really was the little things like puns, humor, and style (especially the clouds) that kept me playing. Thanks for the time well spent man.

  • Awsome Game I Loved It, But Its Hard!

  • that was an awesome game! especially playing it after knowing all that went into making it!

  • D: your stuff was bouncing around in the end D:

  • THE END OWNS xD xD

  • Of the game or the video? :P

  • game

  • Congratulations on completing it, most people haven't been able to.

  • This is inspiring not because of the game, but because of the idea of filming all development. Mh.

  • Just out of interest, did anybody bother watching the credits?

  • I did, and congratulations on third place.

Also, If you start making tutorials on MMF2, I will probably have to go out and get a copy of it myself because I think it would make a really cool hobby.

  • i did. was Richard hale actually in the military?

  • The Royal Marines

  • Dude, any chance we can download the opening song/ death song? It's amazing
