well...actually she doesn't have the Abby's inside her anymore. She now sports John Cruz Master Design Pickups out of a "Wildwood Ten"...one of the last to come from the US as well...Abbys for sale, just fyi.
Don't get me wrong, I think it's pretty cool that they sell 'worn' looking Strats, but I reckon half of the fun is owning the guitar for 50 years and making all the dents yourself ... in theory, anyway. I'm only 24. Haha.
Great playing as always Greg, love your smooth tone and playing.
Do you have any recording tips? You always really get the dynamics out so well, it looks fairly simple what you're using to record, i just have a hard time getting the same tone i hear into pro tools :)
Very nice tone and great playing. Not to be critical but it's hard to hear what effect the pickups have on the tone when you have two overdrive pedals and a delay. These pedals drastically influence the tone, so it's hard to know whether you'd get the same tone using a Strat with el-cheapo Squire pickups.
whoohoo, awesome sound and nice playing Greg! (as always...)
This guitar sounds ooohso nice!
I love the colour, lake placid is my favorite. And this one really looks worn in all the right places, not as fake as the other heavy relics I've seen!
Dude...very sweet lush tone and very nice palying sir! Tell me if you will....would you recommend Abigail Yberra pickups, and what should I expect to pay for them?
Oouf! Guitare/Setup sounds very good, & your playing techniques is just awesome!!!
lol, you could actually do justice to an actual vintage guitare dated much older than 45 years old, and make it sound like a new one right off the making machine! :-)

Could be my Mac, but all your Strats sounds like thin crying whales, and it does not sound well. Get rid of your Okkodumbo effects...

@AndreDerain true, you have to work for your sound on a strat, this guy is probably a 335/LP man

This is your best sounding guitar. I have several stratocasters and mine do not sound like that.

How can I get a mercury box Greg? I live in America and understand that they aren't sold here. Any way I could order one off of a site or something?

That gold top lp seems to be in the background for most of your videos. I'm assuming it's one of your main guitars?
troykeenanguitar 2 years ago
yes, this my No.2 Goldtop - a 1952 converted. My main guitar is a converted 1968

awesome!!! lol the strat came all worn down when u bought that right? hahah
daryl152 2 years ago
yes the worn down job is done by Fender (great job on this guitar)

How does the texture of the finish feel? Because i often find fender relic finishes to un-realistically smooth.
