@the67bug - you can indeed do this permanently if you don't have DSL.
yeah, i just got a vodafone pay as you go dongle, it beats bans in chat rooms as it registers a new IP adress. it also has a limit of 3GB data download allowance which is peanuts and it expires after 30 days. But you have other tariffs, purchase one that suits you.

Can you boost the signal for this in rural areas?
