  • Bravo!!!

  • Fabulous - which there was more on the video ;)

    Daniel Léo Simpson

  • The basset, alto and bass clarinets all pretty much look the same to me. But in sound, what a difference!

  • does anyone know where i can buy one of these things without spending $10,000?

  • What is the difference between Basset Horns and Basset Clarinets?

  • Not exactly graceful for a woman to play.

  • I play bass clarinet, I would die for one of these

  • whoa that looks so cool! i would love to play that, but it probally has a huge case. bigger then my clarinet anyway.

  • It seems that all horns are pitched in F; French horn, English horn and basset horn.

  • Are these harder to play than a Bb 1

  • Hmm, I must have been here 8 months ago. I still want a bassett horn! :)

  • the basset horn its in F (in woodwind instruments, anthony baines)

  • Geez I don't care. Bass clarinets are cooler anyways

  • they aren't basset horns or basset clarinets they are called bass clarinets

(i should know, i have been playing for over a year)

  • @BassClarinet001 Sorry but they are in fact Basset Horns and not bass clarinets. Look at the neck of the basset horn and compare it to your bass clarinet. Your bass clarinet neck will be much longer and more curved. Also the Bass Clarinet did not exist during the time of Mozart. Mozart Composed many trios for the basset horn and he used them in quite a few of his works like the Gran Partita and his Requiem. Dose the basset horn resemble a bass clarinet...yes but it is considerably smaller.

  • @BassClarinet001 Ha ha... You're an idiot.

  • @Hoopermazing sorry just let it go

  • gee........they are obviously basset horns ( cors de basset ) in F. Mozart scored for it. It remained forgotten until Richard Strauss revived it and scored for it in most of his operas. Elektra requires 2 basset horns among a battery of Eb, D, C, Bb, A, and bass.

  • These do be basset horns.

  • No you are thinking of a basset clarinet. They are pitched in A like a normal A clarinet but have a range to low C. These are in fact basset horns pitched in F with a range to low C. I know because Im playing in the video. Alto clarinets and Basset Horns do look alike but the two are different. Alto clarinets are pitched in Eb and have a range to low Eb. If you still don't trust me go to Buffet-Crampon's web sight and see for your self.

  • @tlehtone basset clarinets could also be pitched in Bb and C, but C is really rare.

  • Ohh I so want a basset horn!

  • ive never seen these before.

    cool!

  • These are basset horns, because they can reach the low C, not just the E, like all the clarinets.

  • Those ARE basset horn players NOT alto clarinets.

  • These are modern buffet basset horns pitched in F, 1 property of Dan McKelway and 2 of Case Western University.
