@TheMillersTale2001 - I'm not sure why your comments are being removed, but I see them in my inbox. Anyway, fact of the day re the bass player on this clip, did you know, he also played bass on the original recording of Black Betty (Ram Jam)? Bit of rock trivia for you!
One of my most favorite songs ever written and played. When this song came out at first every band in the area would play it. Long live the allman brother's band and may their genius continue always and forever.
Dangerous Dan at his best....I read somewhere that the les paul he's playing here is a 58 previously owned by Duane Allman and given to him by Dickey Betts,,,recently heard in an interview that he sold it and prefers his red fender strat to a les paul?
@Skyman46 if I'm not mistaken, it's actually Dickey's original Goldtop (not Duane's guitar). The one that Dickey played from mid-late 70 through to early 72... as far as I know, Dickey retired it, had it refinished as a sunburst... then gave it to Dan... it ended up in Germany; there are some videos of Udo Pipper playing it.
@julesfothergill No. Dickey in recent years refinished his Goldie only after he had loaned it to rock n' roll hall of fame and when he got it back the paint had begun to self destruct and turned into runny gew, and Dickey painted his guitar red not a sunburst that Dan Toler is playing here which looks to be all original in vintage form.

Great footage. Brilliant playing. (Love the backdrop when Dan is soloing!)
