  • better to buy elektron or tb 303 if i got small budget ?

  • Good stuff!

  • this vid is so inspiring, i think i shit my pants lol

  • Hi i was wondering if u could help me, I need to know how to sync a TB303 with a TR909 using "Deopfer MSY2" (using din sync leads) at the moment i have it setup like this...TR909 midi Sync In to--- MSY2 Sync, TB303 Sync In to---MSy2 2nd available Sync, midi out from PC (usingCubase Essential5) to--- MSY2 Midi In...

I cant seem to have the tr909 & tb303 to stay in tempo sync, 1 or both the tb303 & tr909 keeps gradually fading out of sync, is anyone familiar with this kind of issue?

    Thanks!

  • Wow,This is really good!!!Nice equipment performence. Can i download this track somewhere??

  • yo i can't get my kms-30 to start with cubase5 to play the 303. do you set the master clock select to midi? any ideas? i never used the kms-30 before i borrowed it. thx

  • @almightyshux You have to setup Cubase as master then set the KMS30 to midi tempo control. Connect out of PC to midi in of KMS30. Last, go sync out of KMS30 to sync in of TB303. The 303 will also have to be set to slave tempo to sync. I forgot off the top of my head how to do it, but it is in the manual. Be sure to set Cubase to send MTC/midi start/stop commands out over the proper interface. Good luck!!

  • @mb33139 thx man. turned out my midi interface was just kaput! grrrrrr i was up all night. also didn't help that i needed to update a driver on my motu(it has a midi port) to get cubase to recognize it aswell. all the follies of using a computer but we gotta record these magic little boxes some how! hopefull i'll remember to hit you guys up with what i'm working on once i'm finished. ps never had to slave the 303, it always just started :)

proof again the 4000 is capable of lots more then only hiphop...i already knew that , since i use it myself ;)

    greetzzz

  • Excellent performance :D

  • Wow. Three of my favorite synths in one video and an excellent sound. Five stars.

I'm curious, though, how does the MPC seem to fit in, in this type of setup? It's often pigeon-holed as something of a hip-hop machine. But, it seems capable of doing almost anything. Any insight about what you feel it's best suited for, or any limitations, would be appreciated.

  • You ask a good question... While I agree that the MPC's are mostly considered a tool for Hip Hop, the MPC4000 can be used as a midi controller for any genre of music. In our case, we use the 4k (four midi outs) as a sequencing center to tie together the 303 (via synchronizer), Virus TI, Machinedrum and Korg Zero 8. Then, we use the two midi inputs for the Axiom and Alesis Drum Pads. Basically, the MPC is taking the place of a laptop.
