No, they named it that after a joke was made that the "New Yardbirds" as they were going to be called would do about as well as a Lead (the metal) Zeppelin. They made it Led in spelling because they didnt want "cheeky Americans" calling it Lead (as in the action "to lead").

Yes, Bonzo is great on this track (too bad his high-hat intro is not audible here), but JPJ on the Hammond B3 makes it for me. If JPJ had only played keyboards and never touched a stringed instrument he'd still be among the legends, and LZ would have been the UK's answer to the Doors, with and English instead of LA vibe...'course, that's not knocking JPJ's bass-playing skills...
