I'd never work on your rig. Those rods are falling way to fast. You barly have enough time to get back from the trough before the rod is at your head. All that jolting around has got to be hell on the lift plug and cable. My boss was killed by a drill rod that twisted out of the winch hook coming down much slower than that.
yes, any new construction should consider geothermal heating and/or cooling, old contruction when replacing an old a/c unit. it is a more expensive but will pay for itself in a few years of use depending on your climate, squarefootage & energy cost.

That is pretty amazing. My rig is three-parted so it takes a bit longer. I will check out that plug though.
