Most of my ancestors are from Germany, mostly Bavaria. My last name, Feterl, has Bavarian origins, but was spelled Federl before my great great grandfather left the village of Klessberg, in the region of Leuchtenberg, in the year 1880. I want to go visit Munich during Octoberfest, and then possibly the Leuchtenberg region during christmas.
SIGH! I miss Christmas time when I lived in Germany from 1988-91 which were probably the best 3 yrs of my life. Love the lifestyle, the food, the beer, the history! Can't wait to go back for a visit in a couple of years!
My mother is from Schweinfurt and I had the privilege of visiting there when I was twelve! I will never forget the experience! LOVE GERMANY! I am proud to be 1/2 German!
My father grew up in Germany, and every other year we spend Christmas there. We go to Lubeck for the market, (which is fantastic) then we drive to my grandmother's house for a proper German dinner finished with church and present opening. It's absolutely beautiful. Then, in the morning I snowball fight with my cousins and we play with our toys. Ich liebe Deutschland. :)
My Great Grandmother is from Hamburg and i dream of visiting one day. Germany is so beautiful. You are lucky you have family there! Id love to travel there during December :)
This is what I remember as a kid. The Christ child comes on the evening of the 24th. Santa comes on December 6th. Oh how I miss my home at Chrstmas time.
Germany is another country in Europe I like. I know a lot of people with German heritage in them. My dad and I have some German blood in us, as a matter of fact.
Wonderful, Thank You
