  • Stunning images! Absolutely breathtaking!

  • This is our home in the universe.....It's so incredibly beautiful. One quote comes to mind when I watched this clip, "If we do not destroy ourselves, we will one day, journey to the stars". The man who said this was a wonderful human being. His name was Carl Sagan.,

  • People say the earth is beautiful, that all the tundras, forests, arctics, and deserts are beautiful, but when you think about it, the universe is beyond that beauty, somewhere out there not far from earth there are other planets with tundras, forests, arctics, and deserts that are far more beautiful than here on earth, the universe is everything we know, it contains all the knowledge the human race will ever need until the end of our species, no one knows what kind of life could be out there.

  • Awesome. Where area of the park did you shoot this in?

  • melodious and relaxing music....

  • The most beautiful part in my perspective is when you understand that the earth is moving, and not the sky.

    Excellent video !

  • can you really see these things from earth? I never saw them before, is it because of light pollution?

  • @xerke

The long exposure times used to put this together are required to get views like this. However, in a really dark location, away from city lights, on a clear moonless night, you can see mind boggling views of the milky way with no equipment needed. It appears as a massive band of cloudy haze across the sky, and it will change your perspective on everything. :)

  • Amazing! funny I was expecting to hear Under The Milky Way song by the Church as well -- guess the video is too short for it. Breathtaking and beautiful -- what was the total recording time?

  • I am watching this video every day. makes me think......

  • Visit TenevFilmworks four more clouds and timelapses

  • Wow!

  • Check out the New Camera Mount Clamp

  • "No sight is more provocative of awe than is the night sky."

    -Llewelyn Powys

  • This is incredibly beautiful

  • This makes me feel like im one with something much much greater than myself.

  • Really good but why don't people ever post information about how they shot this? What equipment was used, how many frames were taken and what interval between them.

  • @ 0:30 that star or satellite or whatever it is looks like it hits something and creates dust.. Pretty cool.

    Amazing video btw, simply beautiful.

  • can you see this many stars with the naked eye?

  • @jileel Nope

  • @PoopyButtface3000 why not ?

  • Beautiful! ***

  • Just amazing, in the shot at 0:15 its almost like you can see a little parallax of the closer stars and you can really feel the depth of the whole thing, fantastic work.

  • Nice video! What focal length and exposures settings did you use to capture this?

  • when would be the best time to go star gazing there at Joshua tree? i went with some friends one day but it was cloudy and the moon was so bright up there..could barely see any stars..please suggest a good time frame! thanks!

  • @ShavketUygurTurk You'd have to know the moon and weather phases, but I always find that the best times are in the winter and summer. Also, check with the visitors center for the National Park and ask if they know anything about star parties. Those are always a lot of fun.

  • I love these timelapse of the night sky in the desert. They show us what we are not seeing with all our artificial lights. Fantastic.

  • "It was a marvelous night, the sort of night one only experiences when one is young. The sky was so bright, and there were so many stars that, gazing upward, one couldn't help wondering how so many whimsical, wicked people could live under such a sky."

    — Fyodor Dostoevsky

  • Incredible....can't help but think of the passage in the Bible that tells us God placed the stars in the sky and He knows them by name.....
