  • buck owens and susan raye also did a rather nice version of this track !

  • Actually, my favorite rendition has become a country-rock recasting by Ian & Sylvia, heard starting around the 5:50 part of this clip:

    watch?v=V3BJ4ztVP9Q

Alas, the chord structure seems to have more in common with Bob Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" . . .

  • Thanks for uploading this song, brings back great childhood memories and still enjoying it. :)

  • one of my favorite albums of all time! The cd is great too, they added a couple of sleepers.

Give Ireland Back to the Irish and Mary had a Little Lamb

  • Awful!. Listen to Everything But The Girl for a great version of this song.

  • @MultiCBGB No one has heard of the band or album or whatever it is that you're talking about. But I'm sure they in their anonymity are amazing geniuses, and if I cared, I might even look them up, but I don't.

  • @superman11978 I looked them up ... it sucks

  • Grand bravo à ce groupe ! J'adore trop cette mélodie qui a bercé mon enfance.

  • do you wanna dance by david lindley (also a classic cover, same year ) same inspiriration........

  • Hmm.. I like it but I still like Buddy's version better.

  • thanks for the upload. never hear this album much these days.

  • Too bad this video is mono with only the left track. Stereo with the right track (which has the synthesizer) would be nice.

  • @macavity1138 hmmmmmm...seems to be in stereo when I play it.

  • @a1jungle it's in stereo when i play it too, sounds great with Bose speakers.thanks for posting this funky jewel.i always had a soft spot in my heart for this album

  • Tempo bom!!! juventude sadia, só natureza!!!!

    kkkkkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!

    Eng. agrônomo.

  • i don't like this bad cover.....

  • @therotiv4 then why did u come on this then... and why comment on it sayin u dont like it when u could just click of it ? :P

  • Freshest song I've heard in a while!

  • A little touch of reggae? Even in the original version by Mickey & Sylvia...Great song, and great cover by Wings. Thanks!

  • @19680117 I am glad you enjoyed it...thanks for listening and watching..

  • @19680117 Great groove to this and Denny Seiwell's drumming was right on the mark throughout this whole album. He doesn't often get a mention but Macca did well to get him on board with this first version of wings - almost as funky as joe english.

  • @19680117 buddy holly did the original

  • There is actually some dispute over who did it first. Though Mickey and Silvia claim to have written the lyrics, Bo Diddly claims to have written the music. Bo Diddly, Mickey & Silvia, and Buddy Holly all recorded and released it within months of each other.

  • This isn't half bad actually, no triggered computerized drums, real drums sound real good.

  • Absolutely brilliant. 70's Macca was still golden. Many people tend to ignore that fact.

  • @alexheadley100

Neither John or Paul were the Beatles...they...as a combination with George and Richard... were the Beatles...their own works are what they are...some better tnan others....this one...in my humble opinion... is as great remake of the original version...

  • @a1jungle i absolutely agree with you! I'm tired of many people trying to compare thier post-work with Beatles songs or compare george, paul, ringo, and john to each other :-/

  • horrible cover man

    i love paul

but he lost the soul of the song with this piece of shit cover

john would have busted it out - no problem

  • @asianwhitenigger

To each their own opinion.... there are lots of people...including me... that love this version..John had insight...and together with Paul and his insight..they produced classics that are timeless...

  • Sush a great album..)

  • un giovane paul con linda.......so fine

  • Paul McCartney has dozens of under-rated solo songs and this is easily one of them!

  • This song was a small hit in the 70´s here in Brazil. Nice version.

  • Just simple Paul......

  • Another hidden gem in the Wings catalog. Thanks for posting.

  • I have another I am thinking about posting..but I have to do research first....and you are welcome...thanks for visiting my page...

  • @helix23 ....you know it....thanks for listening and watching this very boring video...one of my first...lol...just wanted to get it out there...it also happens to be be my most watched...as of this posting it is quickly approcing 10,000 views....

  • @a1jungle It's hard to find an mp3 of this. It isn't on iTunes. This is the only place I have found to hear it online. Maybe that's why it is watched so much.

  • The only reason I have it is becuase I converted the vinyl LP, first I did a wav file then I did mp3. This happens to be the wav file so it is actually better quality.

  • Thanks been looking for this song for years!

  • I love at about 3:25 Paul sounds a bit like Roger Daltery. What a great voice.

  • @AndreFroMan

exactly! One of Paul's best vocals ever. It's great how Paul makes excellence seem so effortless...Also a big fan of "I'm Down"...that's equal to John's ability on 'Twist and Shout'!

  • been lookin' for this cover since it came out and was played 3X at most. what a disservice to an awesome tune. thanks 2 much!!!!!!!!1

  • I am glad you found a song that was lost for you. Thanks for listening.

  • I always thought that Macca should have done more covers like this. What a great idea to infuse a pop song with reggae rythyms. Don't think that intro is too long at all. Set's the right tone. Linda's backing vocals are spot on too. Well done song from a period when Mac wasn't gettin much love.

  • Much too long of an intro on this. Paul should've gotten George Martin to produce it and John Lennon to critique it.

  • Bullshit. It's great. tBut it's completely unlike the beatles. It didn't receive nice comments in the 70s but it's extremely cool stuff. I guess Lennon's What You Got is among the very few solo beatles tracks that's anywhere near this in terms of grooviness.

  • @Nefarioso I totally agree!

  • I love this song:from an excellent album. Thanks very much for putting this up.Brilliant.

  • You're welcome....thanks for watching and listening!!!

  • It's a great song.Always loved this.Thanks a lot.

    Fabulous.

  • It's hard to listen the first part but if you can you'll notice that the second part is awesome!

  • The recording was at the same level all through the song. Thanks for watching and listening.

  • @acepipe123 The intro is great - until it starts going a bit too long. Takes over 3 minutes until we hear Paul singing by himself. But sometimes things are better when you have to wait longer for them.

  • Excelemte pieza interpretada por uno de los más grande músico de todos los tiempos... Fácil y sencilla... La grandeza de los genios

  • Thanks for watching.
